I was thinking of taking my double jogging stoller to Disney next week insted of renting. Will it be safe to leave while we all go on rides. I do not plan on keeping any valuables in it , just drinks and kid supplies. Not sure if people have experienced stoller disapearing.

Thanks for any info

I've never in all my years had a problem. I have had my stroller relocated many times....so you come out of a ride and think it's been taken, but really it was just moved to a different lot.

Unfortunately, people have had their strollers taken. We have never had an issue and you will see tons of personal strollers in stroller parking with the disney strollers. We prefer to take ours because it is more comfortable. We also want the storage, cup holders, etc.

I look at it this way, we are saving $$$ by bringing our own. If it gets stollen, we will use that $$$ to buy a new one.

We've never had a problem.

It's been moved a few times by CM who make space by parking them but never had them stolen or anything taken from them.

Ours have always been quite distinctive as we have always had Mamas and Papas strollers which you don't really find in the US and i always thought that strollers being taken were just taken accidently by someone with the same type:confused3

we've never had a problem leaving strollers unattended either. one option other than renting is buying a couple of cheap $20 unbrella strollers and bringing them with you...

We use a bike cable lock and either from back wheel to back wheel or a back wheel to the handle.
Used it on 2 trips thus far.
Not having to worry about our stroller being gone only moved, is well worth the few times we have to lock and unlock it. We normally park it in a central location and then do all the things in that general area before getting the stroller.

We've never had a problem with ours either. One of the best tips I've gotten from this board was to make some sort of stroller flag to easily ID yours. I found a large square of material with Disney princesses and made tabs to velcro it to the stroller. It's kind of big and obnoxious so I always hope that that will help deter someone from taking it. Of course velcro is easy to rip off, so maybe my "security system" needs to be re-thought:rotfl2:

We've made three trips to ll of the parks and have never had an issue (other than CMs moving the stroller). I've only read a few reports here about stroller issues/thefts.

Our stroller was taken once. We found it on the other side of the park. Nothing was taken from it.

This hasn't stopeed us from taking a stroller. It's much easier when the kids get tired. Plus we can store bags underneath.

Go to Walmart and buy one of the $10 cable bicycle combination locks. When you have to leave the stroller just run it through one wheel and you are good to go. The CM's will still be able to move it if needed and thieves will not want to hassle dragging it out of the park

I have read posts about strollers being stolen but I don't know how common it is.

I have a BOB stroller and couldn't travel with it since we were flying. I found a fantastic deal on Ebay on a brand new Maclaren Volo with slight staining. I added a cup holder/storage bag, seat liner, and travel bag. All together I paid about $100 which is the same cost as the travel bag for BOB. We LOVED the Volo and I'll be buying a double when #2 comes along. That said, if I were driving and had room, BOB would go to the parks with me.

I am 99.44% sure your stroller would be fine, but you can get a small bike lock for some peace of mind. Also, I am not sure if people really steal strollers or just get them confused in the chaos. Try marking your stroller with something you can see easily at a distance, like a bright bandana or the balloon the kids just have to have. This will help you find it in the massive stroller parking areas and will keep others from getting confused.

Have a great time!

Strollers are taken from time to time. Depends on how similar it is to other strollers, many are taken by mistake and how good it is, some taken just because it is good. If it is really good one and new, I would not risk it. If it is not that appealing, make sure to put some sort of ID on it(ribbon, first name, something that people will not mistake for theirs and something for you to be able find it fast.)

definitely!!! i rarely hear stories of anyone having a stolen stroller. and if yours does come up missing, keep in mind CMs move them and many look alike. I know a family member once walked off with someone else's stroller only to realize it hours later. She returned to guest relations to let them know and leave it there. eventually both owners got theirs back. So be sure to clearly mark your stroller with a brightly colored banadana or something unique. no need to do the poopy diaper trick, i seriously doubt anyone is going to try and take your stroller on purpose, those incidents are few and far between.

PLEASE! Do not buy a bike lock! There was a thread on here last month by someone who locked their stroller and WDW security was very upset with them. They came out of an attraction to a swarm of security officers around their personal belongings. Long story short, the lock was cut up and removed and they were issued a stern warning not to do it again!

We never had trouble with leaving ours. I'm taking our double jogger (its second trip to WDW). There are detterant methods that some people have used in the past... like leave some trash in it. Some have gone as far as melting a candy bar in a diaper and leaving it kind of open (YUCK!)

You should be okay.

Just for clarity, this was a situation where someone locked their stroller to a tree, which is competely different than passing a lock through a stroller's wheels.

If you love your stroller and don't want to take chances, you can buy a bike lock OR a stroller lock. You can't lock your stroller to any stationary objects in the park (because disney can and will remove them for safety). But if they are through the wheels they are fine. CM's can lift and move them if needed, but they just can't push their wheels which is fine.

:)

Just don't leave anything in it that would bother you if you came back and it was gone

We took a brand new sit and stand in '08, and never had a problem. I've kicked around looking for something lighter and smaller than my old beat up duoglider, but I think I will stick with bringing that one unless I get a good deal on something else. We never left anything of value in the stroller....and a good idea is to either have purchases sent to the front of the park or to your resort if staying on site so you don't have to worry about new things being taken. I don't think it happens as often, we just hear about it when it does happen. Yes...the CMs move them, usually to organize them and keep them from being strewn haphazardly all over the place. Don't panic right away..and ask to be directed to where they may have been moved. Also...tying bright fabric to the handle or even a balloon will help you locate it in a sea of look a likes. Go..have fun..don't sweat the small stuff!
