I'm wondering how safe you all think it would be to leave dd's 7x7 Creative Memories album that we'll be using for an autograph book, in a backpack in our stroller while on rides. I was thinking of using a little luggage lock to lock the backpack, and then run a bike lock through and around the strollers wheels and around the backpack so if someone wanted to take it they'd have to pick up the whole stroller and carry it away. Then all we'd have to take on the rides would be camera and wallet. What do you think? Thanks!

We always left our autograph books sitting in our stroller and nobody ever bothered them.

We left ours in the back pocket of the stroller with out a problem. I wouldnt leave a camera or wallet, but a book should be fine. Theft in the park happens- you get 60,000-80,000 people together and you are bound to have some bad seeds. But, I'm guessing the number of people that actually have something taken is a pretty small precentage. I realize that is no consolation for those that have had something taken.

There was a thread here just a couple of days ago that included several horror stories about people having their entire strollers stolen, including anything that was inside. If you are the least bit concerned about losing it, I would keep it with me.

I just have to ask....is it the Disney theme album??? I'm hosting a CM party in April just so I can get the new full size album with Mickey on the cover!

Back to the original question, I probably would just carry the backpack on the rides. Its really not that much trouble.

You are probably safe. As with most thefts, people are looking for things of value that they can either sell or use themselves. Those of us who value things like character autographs and scrapbooks aren't the crowd who would steal them. I've never had a problem with theft in DL, but I also never leave anything other people might value in my stroller. Or anything that looks like it might hold valuable items, like a camera bag even though the camera is with me. I carry my backpack on everything and leave jackets, snacks, water bottles, etc. in the stroller. If anyone is desperate enough for my DS's jacket, they must need it more than we do.

We are planning to carry the stroller contents with us whenever we have to leave it. I think DS5 would be crushed if we did lose something like that, so we won't chance it.

You're like me. If we value it, I carry it :) Nobody seems to care about jackets so those get left on the stroller. The kids probably hope the snacks disappear so we can buy new ones :rotfl:

Theft seems to be very uncommon at DL, but if you value something, it doesn't hurt to be safe and carry it with you. Small backpacks seem to fit pretty well on any ride. I've always wondered if people make mistakes taking the wrong strollers...sometimes the area looks like a used car lot. I guess name tags on the top of the strollers help.

I wouldn't leave anything in the stroller that I woudln't be willing to lose. That being said the book seems pretty special to your daughter it doesn't hurt to bring it just to be safe. She would probably be crushed if someone were to steal it. There is quite enough room on the rides for backpacks alot of people bring them and all there other random bags!
