All this crowd talking is making me crazy! Where are the safe neighborhood we could leave the parks for to go trick or treating? Don't really want to spent that kind of money for the party it it is so crowded? Were looking in going on Oct. 28...which is a Thursday night! Is DOwntown Disney crowded around 5 pm when the trick or treating starts? Thanks

They have trick or treating at both DTD and the Boardwalk, which also has some other fun Halloween stuff. Maybe things are different in other parts of the country, but I always thought trick or treating in neighborhoods was for the kids who lived there, not for tourists.

I agree....I would try DTD or Boardwalk....I'd hate if toursits came to my neighborhood to trick or treat....If you are on vacation during Halloween either do something at Disney or skip it...

Just to add my two cents, even a "safe neighborhood" could have unstable people in it. In our own "good" neighborhood, I still only let my son go to the houses of people I actually know. Sad when I compare it to my childhood Halloween experiences, but I do believe parents need to use more caution now.

WDW has so much stuff for Halloween. I would stick with Disney or not trick or treat.

Try DTD or the boardwalk. I also think the Halloween party will not be as crowded as you think. Don't they only sell a limited number of passes to it?

You could always go to a different WDW park that day as well.

As far as I can tell, most of the "permanent-resident" neighborhoods near WDW are gated communities. Many of the subdivisions off of 192 to the west are full of rental vacation homes; I rather doubt that folks staying there are going to bother to stock candy for t-or-t; I'm thinking most of them are going to be planning to spend Halloween at a theme park.

I don't know anything about trick-or-treating near WDW, but I do know that kids around here don't just trick-or-treat in their own neighborhood. My neighborhood is one of the few in the area that has one way in, and one way out. You wouldn't believe how many cars we have parked on the sides of the streets of people coming from others neighborhoods to trick-or-treat in ours. Noone seems to mind at all. Some of the people in our neighborhood go all out and even turn their garages and part of their homes into haunted houses. I always give a treat of a juice box, chips, chocolates, bubblegum, suckers, and a couple other pieces of candy. I don't know 1/3 of the kids, but IMO the more the merrier. :teeth:

Where at DTD and Boardwalk do they have stuff for Halloween? We've always done the MNSSHP, never knew they did anything at DTD or Boardwalk!
