Safe hotels between airport and WDW for late night arrival?

Just made a last minute ressie at SSR for late Feb so I could use our holding points - Wed. night a friend and I arrive after 10pm at MCO and don't check in until Thurs. at SSR. I'm going to rent a car, but want somewhere safe and convenient for my friend and I to stay either near the airport or on the way to WDW - we'll get up the next morning, take our luggage to SSR and hit the parks. Would it be worth it to drive to WDW and stay at a value if we could get a ressie? Any ideas would be welcome. (We're two wild and crazy, but safety conscious 50+ ladies)

Thanks!

I arrived late with a 2 year old during my late November trip and stayed at the Sheraton Orlando Airport. Free shuttle from the airport to the hotel. I even managed to snag it via priceline for $50/night. I believe I selected 3 1.2 stars? and airport for location. The room was very nice--a suite. I think all of the rooms there are. Nice workers, nice room, safe!

I've stayed at the Hyatt at MCO. It's a lovely hotel, right in the airport terminal, and I'd highly recommend it.

If you are a cheapsake, you can almost always get one of the 3 or 3.5* MCO-area hotels from Priceline for very cheap.

There's a Holiday Inn Express near MCO with free shuttle service. It's new, clean, in a secluded, safe area and quiet.

In that situation I would probably grab ME to a value resort and then ge the onsite rental car shuttle to grab a car that morning.. but I have no method to my madness. ;) Sooner I get onsite the better!
