Safe and close hotel at SNA

Our flight prices have increased significantly. For three round trip tickets it went up $500. I'm thinking about changing to fly in the night before and stay right by the airport, we're staying at GC and the flight gets in at 9:30ish and I don't want to spend the extra funds to go to GC that late at night.

Is there a hotel near SNA that anyone would recommend? Even better if it has a shuttle. I mapped hotels but am having trouble actually picking one. I would like to keep it under $200 if possible.

This actually night work out better. I was dreading getting up at 4 to make our flight. This would allow us to sleep in as much as possible with two excited 9 year old girls.

I’d just take a Lyft to a hotel near Disneyland-it’s only 20 minutes and you’d be right near GC-can drop luggage off, use pool etc next morning.

We are flying the night before we go to DLH. Our flight lands at 9pm. I booked the holiday inn Santa Ana ... mostly because I had enough points to cover it.

Be very careful with this place. It's in a pretty sketchy area. The clerks at the gas station nearby keep tasers on them to deal with the crack heads who come in and harass the female employees. Ask me how I know.

I avoid this area at all costs. There are far better options near the airport.

Hummmm thank you.

Just making sure we are talking about the same one because there are a few:

Thanks all! I will definitely avoid that hotel as it's just me traveling with two 9 y.o. girls.

Anything near SNA is fine - actually the closer the better. Look up "safe places to spend the night" and you'll find a picture of Irvine.

While I haven't been there in years, the Westin Costa Mesa is pleasant and has a shuttle. It's safe and serene, right next to the performing arts center and a big mall.

I ended up booking the Springhill. Thanks for the recommendation, I always feel better getting advice here!

I'm sure you will love it. It's far enough away from the airport to be quiet and it's in a pretty "commercial business" district, so it's safe. The breakfast is really good, also.
