Safari when it's cold?

Was thinking of going to AK for EMH (8am) this upcoming Monday morning but I see a cold front is coming through. Our main reason for going is because my daughters would like to ride the safari. If I remember correctly (though I can't remember where I heard/read), there are not a lot of animals out when it is in the 40's outside. Thoughts or information on this? Thank you so much!
