Safari Ride @ Animal Kingdom while pregnant?

I rode it last September at 5 months pregnant. Wasn't any worse than some of the roads in New Jersey after this winter.

My DD rode it also while pregnant. The CM did advise against it. She/we live in the mountains of WV and she lives on an unpaved road several miles back to her house. The safari does not come close to what she endures everyday, twice a day going to and from home. She also had ridden the safari ride many times, so she knew the comparison. When we visit her, it can be pretty bumpy.

The other abusively turbulent ride in AK is Dinosaur. I think it's a less painful ride compared to the safari trucks. Those bumps in the road are painful for anyone with bad hips

It should be noted that all the trucks on the Safari have been running on Natural Gas. Before they used to run on high sulfur diesel fuel, which made a bad first impression for me while in the ride queue.

I rode the safari at 30 weeks. I asked to sit in the front and had no problems and do not regret it. I had been on the safari many times before and knew what to expect. If that was not the case I probably would not have ridden given the warning.

I chose not to ride it at 22ish weeks along. It was one of the few rides that spefically has the sign that says pregnant women should not ride, so I figured there was a reason.

I did at about that far along. I asked to ride in front, and just braced my legs on the floor to take the worst of the bumps. It's really no more bumpy than your average country road.

I rode it last year at 5 months. We asked to sit in the front row, since it's supposed to be less bumpy. I was fine. Everyone has different levels of comfort. I had ridden the safari several times before, so I knew what to expect. There are some pretty bumpy roads around here, so I was ok with it. :)

I rode it at about 4 months pg. It was the only ride at Disney with a warning that I chose to ignore on that trip. I knew what the ride was like and it wasn't any bumpier than things I encountered in regular life, so I figured it would be fine and it was. I did sit in the front row and it really wasn't very bumpy. My son was born full term and prefectly healthy and has been to Disney to ride the Safari many times with us, so it all worked out fine! Of course, everyone has to make their own decisions. I weighed the risks and for me, it wasn't a tough choice to go on this ride.

I rode it at 29 weeks pregnant. Didn't regret it. I agree that some bus rides are comparable. If you can bring a newborn on, I think its fine. Thats me thought. I wasn't concerned. Have a good trip!

I rode it 7 months pregnant and was fine. Honestly, I lived on a dirt rode riddled with pot holes so the ride wasn't a while lot different though. Talk to your doctor. When I spoke to mine, she said those signs were there for liability issues more than anything. She advised me not to ride the roller coasters but said everything else was fine. I did not have any complications though either.

I, too, rode it @ 7 months pregnant and both myself and my child are perfectly well! Honestly, I didn't speak with my doctor, but I was working a pretty physically-demanding job at the time, so I was in pretty fair shape, too. I sat in the middle- with my father in law cushioning me on one side, and my husband on the other. I never felt uncomfortable or anything- got off that ride and walked to the next one! Enjoy your trip!!

I rode it at 6 months pregnant; this was the only ride I went against the posted sign. I had been on the ride on previous trips so I knew what to expect. I had no issues with me or baby. My son probably enjoyed it; he was always bouncing around in my belly anyway.

IMHO,it wasn't any bumpier than my DH's everyday driving:scared1::rotfl: I personally would go on it anytime,it isn't even close to being a thrill type ride....just a few jounces and turns, like a car on a bumpy road.....unless you have pregnancy problems, that is....I'd probably avoid the Disney coasters for safety...

I'm also firmly of the opinion that being pregnant is not being ill....or injured, I was perfectly healthy, just avoided the true coasters
