Are there currently zebras somewhere at Animal Kingdom? We see them in old Animal Kingdom promotional videos, but didn't see any in September.

My 4 year old says "I don't know what happened to them, maybe the poachers got them." :lmao:

I'm glad they were back then... I wonder where they were when we were there. We couldn't have missed them every time we went on the safari (we rode it at least a dozen times--it is DDs favorite and one of the reasons we always get park hoppers).

I can't remember if we saw any in Feb, but there were plenty of the Okapis - they are half zebra! :)

We saw lots of Okapis too. We saw a stuffed Webkins Okapi at Target a couple weeks ago (our last trip was September of last year) and my four year old remembered what they were called. Who says Disney isn't educational?

I think I misspoke. I went back and looked through my photos and discovered that the zebra pictures were from Rhino Rally at Busch Gardens Tampa. I have no zebra photos from Kilimanjaro in Jan, so I guess that means we didn't see any zebras (or else I would have taken a picture of them).

Aren't there some zebras at the AKL savannah? Maybe all of them are kept there these days.

If your child really likes zebras and for some reason they aren't on the safari (it happens sometimes) you can always head over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge? They have a nice sitting area with rocking chairs where you can see the savannah or your can get down and walk around it.
