So we had our whole trip planned and reservations made when DD said today she might not want to go to the Safari Park. She just thinks the zoo, followed by Seaworld, followed by the Safari Park might be allot of animals in 3 days. The extra day could be used for more Disney. Thoughts? Is the Safari Park a must see?? I know we will be back to DL and DCA again, maybe even this year. Not sure if we will make it back to San Diego again thou anytime soon.

Guess I am getting tempted by that extra Disney day and wondering how great the SP is or if 3 days of animals is too much. :confused3

The Safari Park is tons of fun but yes, its more animals to see and animal shows to watch. Only you can decide where to spend your time the best!

Well I found out the only reason DD wanted to skip it and add a day at DL was because I wasn't getting the Park Hopper for a one day visit. She really wanted to check out the Little Mermaid ride; it was just opening last time we were there. LOL. So guess I will stop being cheap and just buy the hopper!

I thought it was weird; she has wanted to be a zoologist since she was little and LOVES animals! :goodvibes

Oh goodness. You are only planning on going to Disneyland for ONE day?!?!?! Then PLEASE use the Safari Park day as a second Disneyland day!!!!! One day is criminally short for a Disneyland vacation. In fact, TWO days is criminally short, but it's infinitely better than just one! The Safari Park is cool but your day will be far better used at Disneyland.

I work at the zoo. It's always great to meet budding zoologists!

I know, I know; the 1 day at Disney thing is KILLING me. This was suppose to be a vacation to San Diego and we weren't going to go to DL at all, we were going to just wait until after Carslands opened. Being so close thou I just could not resist and added a day. Now tempted to add another. LOL

What a fun place to work!!!!!!

Well we added the back stage tour at Seaworld, canceled the Safari Park, and added a Disney day. LOL Now just have to figure out how to rearrange all the hotel stuff! :surfweb:

I too, work at the Zoo, and would second Sonnyjane. As wonderful at the Safari Park is, you can skip it. The only problem is you would miss seeing the adorable baby elephants at the Safari park

Gah!!! SOOOO many baby elephants! :)

I am hijacking this thread a bit so I apologize but the mention of baby elephants made me think...for those of you who said you work at the zoo, maybe you can answer a question.

I saw online that you can do those 'dates with a baby animal' but they didn't have any for May. Do you know if they will have these at all in May? And are they just for little kids or can adults do them too :goodvibes

Do you have a link? I'm not familiar with what you're talking about.

I'm still not seeing the thing about baby animals but if you found it under Play Days, that's just a special fun two week event we are having at the zoo, so it won't be going on in May.

Yeah you are right, I have been reading so much touristy stuff the past few days I think I got 2 things combined in my head. Sorry bout that.

There are some Zoo's that do events like what you are describing, but I have never heard of the Safari Park doing this. I have worked at the Zoo for 23 years, and am familiar with both parks.
