Safari at AK evening EMH?

DD and I would like to try this since we don't have a morning to devote to the AK on this trip. KS is listed as an evening attraction but I don't see how they could have it in the dark? Has anyone ridden KS during EMH? If not, when does the Safari close down for the evening? EMH hours will be from 7-10 pm while we're there and I'm hoping KS will be an EMH attraction from 7-8ish.

Thanks

Jennifer

I've only done AK Evening EMH once & it was in January - the EMH hours were 5-8 pm. At that time the Safari closed by 5 pm. We'll be there again next week & am hoping that the Safari will be open a little later this time. :)

Oh, please, please post and let me know how it went. We have to skip one park morning this trip and I'm chosing AK. I could live without the safari (just a little shallow when it comes to nature  ) but DD would like to ride if we can fit it in.

TIA

I'll be sure to post when we return - I would definitely try to fit in the Safari. It's probably my favorite ride at the AK. :)

When there are EMH at the Animal Kingdom, the last safari ride is at 7 pm.

We were there last week, but missed the safari ... I would think that the animals would be more active in the early evening than in the heat of the day...

have fun!

I always try to catch the 1st ride in the morning when the animals are nice and frisky, but I have gone late a couple of times and was very happy, the animals were very active. Try to catch one of the last rides and let us know how it was if you do.

Hi Jennifer!

We're back & we attempted the late EMH at AK, and were a little disappointed in it. We arrived at AK just before 5 pm & were disappointed to see that Flame Tree BBQ was closed. We had been looking forward to eating here all day, but it closes at 4 pm, even when there is an evening emh. We rode the safari & almost had the entire truck to ourselves. We saw quite a few animals - I think early in the morning and late in the day are the best times to ride this one - more animals are out and about when it is cooler out. We didn't do much else here - we had already been to AK a couple times at that point during the trip. If you can swing it, I would recommend the morning EMH at AK much more. JMO - good luck! :)

Thanks for the report on the afternoon safari. We usually love the early EMH at Animal Kingdom but we already have Discovery Cove booked for the only AK EMH morning during our visit. Since you give it such a good report we're going to try for a late afternoon ride.

Sorry to hear about the Flame Tree. It's a favorite of DH and DS. Did you happen to notice whether or not Tusker House also closed early?

Thanks again!

Jennifer

Not sure about Tusker House - we ended up at Pizzafari because it was the closest & we were concerned everything would close at 5 (it was 10 til.) I think Pizzafari is actually kept open late for the EMH, so my guess is that TH probably closes at 4-5 also. We originally planned to get to the AK by 3:30 or so, but we ended up napping too long - the heat had really taken its toll on me that day. ;) Pizzafari was good, just not what we had been looking forward to. :)
