Only got home today, although we arrived back in the UK Wednesday we stayed a couple of days down in London to watch 'The Wedding' (which was also fantastic).
This was our 9th trip and first at Easter, myself, hubby, son aged 11 and daughter 8 went on the 5 day / 4 night trip, staying at the Explorers the first night and Santa Fe the rest, here are our highs and lows:
* Weather - again very lucky, beautiful sunshine and no rain!
* Santa Fe - refurb room with Cars bedding, bunk beds and flatscreen tv, great spot in block 14, right next to the bridge for Cheyenne - love the walk.
* Princess makeoever for our daughters birthday - absolutely fantastic will post pics - bought tears to my eyes and well worth the money.
* The whole day for my daughters birthday was amazing - starting with a phone call from Mickey, signed poster from the princesses, the makeover, and a birthday tea with cake at Cafe Mickey - served by the VERY mischievous Stitch!
* Character interaction - seemed to be so many around. Particularly the Stars and Cars Cruella, Garston and Evil Queen
* Easter Egg hunt at the Santa Fe - both children were whisked off with the Queen of Hearts! for a hunt around the site - loved it
* Easter Egg hunt in the Disney Village - different thing to do and kids loved it.
* Meeting Rapunzel for the first time and joining in with the Green Army Men in Toy Story land - very funny.
* Getting everything done we wanted to and more.
* Cast Members - as usual brilliant and very friendly.
* Not being as busy as we anticipated apart from Easter Tuesday - was so manic never seen the parks so packed!
* The autograph book I made went down very well, characters loved it and made such a fuss. Equally so did our t shirts and bags - we got the characters to sign the bags in Cafe Mickey and we had lots of queries where we got them from!!!!
Lows:
* Explorers check in - just a small negative really, had to wait over an hour for a room and didn't get very friendly staff. This was our first stay here and although the hotel and room was really nice we still prefer the Kyriad as an off site hotel.
* Rude people - as usual with one particularly unpleasant incident but didn't spoil our stay.
* Didn't really like the Magical Moments stage show, didn't have the 'wow' factor for us and think the train was the same.
* Eurostar being delayed by 45 minutes due to some idiots on the track at Lille
And just a few notes:
Not sure if anybody else has posted this but Walts is open but covered in scaffolding and netting so if you're booking in the hope of seeing the parade I'd check if they've finished the refurb first.
Security seems to have picked up since our last trip - there are now bag checks at the entrance to the Village (but only from the Parks side for some reason). Saw more security guards in the shops too.
Disney Express one way is now 11 Euros (was 10 last time we used it).
Last week Snow White and Cinderella were by the side of Its A Small World between 1 and 2, just randomly turned up but it happened each day but not an advertised thing and obviously may not always happen but worth a look if you don't fancy queueing for ages at the official spot!
The magic is most definitely still there and for those of you about to go, enjoy
