Just curious how everyone else feels....We joined D23 for the fun, excitment, and to be part of the official club...We love it...Even though we cannot go to the great events right now, I think its great Disney is taking care of members...Now...Anyone else irked over people selling the free gifts to members on Ebay???? Someone has the Monorail patch, mispelled, on there for $400!!! Absurd....When we lose the freebies, thank the folks that need a quick $20 of something thats a gift....Real collectors would love to own all 6 patches...I think D23 should surf ebay, find out whose selling, and exclude them from free gifts in the future...Just like the 1st day member pins, and other D23 pins....

Maybe its just me, but, anyone else feel the same?

I really don't think it will effect our freebies..and I bet it doesn't get that price. Look how fast the D23 charter pin fell. Some people aren't really collectors..there are some things I'd sell, but so far I really like these. But really, I don't think that will stop Disney from sending them.

I didn't see the Monroail patch on Ebay for 400.00 I saw a couple in the high $20.00 range. Maybe they came to their senses and put a normal price on it? It would be fun to have them all, but I'm not willing to pay 20+ for each...maybe soon thel will go down to a few dollars each, then I'll buy them. Really..I don't see D23 as having price holding power. The pins that were going for high amounts a few weeks ago are going for pretty low prices or not at all.

Some folks probably joined D23 just so they could have access to exclusive items and sell them. As for tracking the ebay items back to the D23 members, don't think Disney has the time for that. Plus it's the individual's choice as to what they want to do with their items. It is sad...but true.

The mispelled one was buy it now for $400...I hope it did not sell....Thats insane...

Also, I agree people cando what they want with items, and I agree Disney doesn't have the time to watch....Its just a shame, and I am venting...

Why do I always see the D23 pins on Ebay?...I picked one up off a CM's lanyard at MK too....also I see the D23 magazine available for anyone to buy at AK....I thought all these items were exclusive to members?

I am sorry if I upset you. I guess everyone has an opinion, DOI says that. DOI also says you can say what you want. Brave New World over pins and patches? Hardly. Just venting and chatting.

PS: I didn't know the nature of collecting was getting things and then selling them to people for a huge profit. I have been collecting for over 20yrs, and enjoyed the hunt and having the item. Not getting it and re-selling to make money of folks who enjoy something. There was a guy where I used to live, used to knock over kids, and push them to get Hot Wheel Treasure Hunts just to sell on ebay and make $10. Pathetic.

Seriously Wendy....Sorry if I was brash...Its just annoying, I have known too many "collectors" who stop at nothing to get things for ebay...This same guy who knocked kids over used to sneak into walmarts pretending to be an employee to open cases of hot wheels.....

I just think, if you join a club like D23, you may want to collect the items given...I guess I am too much of a Disney Obsessive to sell things....I am the type I would rather give away something to a collector then make $20 on ebay........
