Do you consider yourself to be the victim of Seasonal Affective Disorder (a feeling of depression in the darker, colder months)?

Rich::

Nope. I think maybe I used to be, but the older I get, the more I appreciate a nice, dark day. Gives me an excuse to get stuff done inside and then sit around and veg.:thumbsup2

I LOVE winter. I love coming home and putting on my sweats, curling up with a soft blanket and a book (or my laptop) When it's light out after work, I feel guilty if I'm not out "doing" something. Winter allows me to enjoy my time without guilt!

Yes. It's horrible. I can barely get out of bed on rainy days.

I absolutely dread the daylight savings switch too. It messes me up for weeks.

I don't think I do, but we've also had a pretty mild winter here. Like today, it's not too cold and very sunny outside.

I love rainy days, though.

I selected yes because I DREAD January and all of winter. My body pretty much shuts down. I get so depressed. I don't even really like talking to anyone, even my DH2B.

No ~ I like the winter. I feel less guily about Dising whereas in the summer months I feel I should be outside doing something.

I voted somewhat. I enjoy dark rainy days, but we've just had so many of them this year, and it's really started to get me down.

Honestly, I think I have that in the SUMMER months cuz I HATE summer!! I love winter and gloomy weather and cold. When its sunny and hot and the bugs are out, I am inside. So I think I do suffer from SAD, but not in winter.

Yeah I think I do somewhat. But the older I get the more aware I am. I've found a good cure though, I take out my Disney planner and work on my upcoming trip.

See now, this is me. I love being cold, getting in my jammies, cuddling up in a warm blanket (sometimes with my husband), making a cup of hot tea, and enjoying a good book or movie.

somewhat:

in the summer I have energy right up until bedtime - 11:30 or so. I don't sit for long...am ususally outside or doing something...

in the winter I just want to sit in a big comfy chair with something warm to drink and something good to read - as soon as DD is in bed - ususlly around 9

I push through it or deal with though - it doesn't really keep me from doing what needs to be done!

I feel like I do. I have to have light, especially sunlight. :sunny:

Our boss is the 1st one at work and doesn't turn on all the lights to save energy and I have to go behind him and turn them on. I am all for saving energy as much as possible, but he sits in his office w/ no lights on at all and I am so not going to do that! I NEED MY LIGHT!!!!

I do notice a difference in the cold, winter months, especially the days with no sun. I just want to stay in the house like a hermit all bundled up.

The weather affects me and DH to a greater extent. This year has been better for me because the winter has been so mild. Today is cold but sunny so I took the girls to the dog park and feel fine and happy atm. DH is stuck in his office all day. When it is dark when he gets home, he gets no relief and suffers. He is under the care of a doc and I have seen sparks of him feeling better this winter so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Definitely - and that's why I like all of my rooms to be white; white furniture - etc; - with a splash of color here and there..

Of course there's also something wrong with my eyes.. I can't drive at night anymore and I have to have lots of lights on all the time - even during the day..

I have it horribly bad and DH has it pretty bad so we fight for the light after we get home from the gym. The go lite has saved both of us! Living where we do we get nasty nasty nasty inversions that sometimes last for weeks. It's foggy, cloudy, freezing cold, make you sick air, depressing gunk so to avoid the problems with it we go up into the mountains where you get sun and it's warmer than the city or we sit in front of the light a LOT more than normal.

I hate daylight savings change in October but I do love it in the Spring. I just hate winter.

I'm sure I was. Part of it was the heighten pain levels winter in New England brought, part of it was the never ending gray days.

I know I was because since I've moved to Florida even days when I'm in pain during the winter months have never made me feel like I did when I resided in Massachusetts.

I wish I'd made this move years ago!
