Arrived back to sunny Gatwick on Friday after 2 and a bit weeks at the world.

I always tell my GF (who is normally in floods of tears) that its nice to be home and at least we have our next trip to look forward to. However deep down im a little sad to back rather than enjoying the orlando lifestyle (and i do mean orlando as a whole not just DW).

This trip however i did notice an unusual amount of Brazilian tours. Dont get me wrong we've all seen and HEARD them from time to time but this holiday everywhere you looked there was a guide holding a flag. Also although i had heard stories of how rude they can be i have never experienced it until this trip.

Prime example, first day visiting the parks went to Hollywood Studios and caught the HSM show where they drive up the street before performing in front of the hat. There were grandparents with there grandchildren waiting to watch the show. GM in front with GC while the GF stood behind them, not in anyones way. DGF and I were to their right, we had said hello and made small talk and could tell they were nice people. Suddenly this Brazil guy (40ish)and his tribe come running across and start push the grandfather further and further forward into his grandchild. The grand father tries to stand his ground and the Brazilian goes, 'what the hell do you think you're doing'.
What an idiot, I tried to push my way in between the GF and the Brazilian so that it would be me he was pushing against. I mean come on this GF was about 65-70. HOW RUDE.
The other really annoying thing about them is they insist on arriving at shows 5min after they have started and making a commotion that spoils your enjoyment. My DGF always goes mad but i normally say, 'come its they're holiday too they are just trying trying to enjoy themselves and fit as much in as possible.' However i have to admit to getting pretty frustrated with it this time.

Apart from these very small hicups it was a throughly enjoyable holiday. Stayed a POP for 10 nights and i was a bit worried that it would be like Butlins but i was pleasently surprised and would definately stay there again.
Stayed the other 6 at world centre marriott on the 536. Its very close to DW and a lovely hotel to stay in. We were on the 10th floor and could see right across the World icluding the castke on a clear day! However its not a vacation hotel. Its primary use is for confrences and everything about it is set up for that. It cost $10 per day plus tax to self park and unless you get lucky and stay in the North tower its still a 5min walk to your tower! $20 to valet!
The shuttle service to the parks is run by MEARS but the hotel charges $14 per person, per round trip and only runs at 8.30, 9.30, 10.30 to the parks and returns 3.30, 4.30, 5.30 from the parks. Pretty usless for park hopping.

All in all a great trip and looking forward to going back soon!

welcome back!
the only way to fight the 'sad to be back' blues, is to start planning the next trip!!

Glad you had a great time, apart from those hiccups..
I know what you mean about the hsm though, we were at the front and parents were trying to push in front and even force their kids to join in with the dancing bit..sad really when its supposed to be the magical place on earth!

I was in WDW last July and there seemed to be Brazilian tour groups everywhere. Generally, they seemed to be high spirited school groups enjoying themselves as you would expect but I did get a little annoyed when we went to get fast passes for Soarin in Epcot and 5 of the FP machines were taken up with a member of various different groups all feeding 60 plus entrance tickets into the machine to get fast passes. The wait was horrendous. My husband asked a CM if that was allowed and apparently so, if someone has a valid park ticket, regardless of whether it's 1 or 100 then they can use the FP machine. We also had a similar experience, several times to be honest, when waiting in line for a ride behind one member of a tour group. Just as we got near the front of the queue, another 20 or 30 people would appear out of nowhere and join them in the queue. :headache:
I try to tell myself that they are just kids and not let it annoy me but it's hard sometimes.

Still, I'd rather be queue hopped by Brazilians in WDW any day than be at work writing this....:)
