In January, a good friend of my little sister (just turned 16) had something devistating happen with her family. She is 16 years old and has one younger sister. They had a nice boat. Her father and his buddies went over to the Bahamas one weekend and did some fishing and lobster catching and all. Now I am not clear as to why, why they had 2 boats to begin with and why on their way back, the friends were in one boat and the father was by himself in his boat traveling back to West Palm. I understand it was kinda foggy out and the first boat was traveling much faster then the other. Well the friends made it back to town but this girls father never made it. 2 days later his boat was found, the lobsters were gone and the boat was pretty much gutted of everything possible and there were gunshot holes all over the boat. He still has never been heard from nor any body has been found.

The thought is pirates, yes PIRATES!!! Came aboard, robbed him and killed him and threw him overboard. I can't help but think that he set this all up as a way to get out of his life and is living somewhere else. But I guess they had a very good family life, no problems at all... very happy.

The family went for an overnight trip to Universal Studios on Friday, took my little sister with them. And they came back yesterday morning in time for my little sisters bday party. The mother dropped her daughter off, she just seems... sad. But they are getting on with life. Very sad.

Wow, that's horrible! It does seem odd, though, that he was by himself and the other boat didn't follow at the same speed. :confused3

I feel for his family.

I am sorry. I lost my Mom when I was 16 and it still hurts today, it always will, but eventually you do remember the good times and smile again.

Yes there are pirates in those waters. Nothing romantic about it.
