Beauty, in my opinion you are handling it in perfectly. I grew up in very similar circumstances to that boy and I will tell you it was very embarassing. I will always remember my friends and particuarly their families that were there for me, but never pressed me with too many questions. It hurt soo much to talk about it and sometimes I just wanted to be a kid. It was such a welcome to relief to get away from it for a while. I think you are doing a wonderful thing by helping this child through a very difficult situation.
