Last Friday (jan 18) I was hit by a just turned 17 yr old boy. His Mom had him out on the road - for the very first time trying to teach him how to drive. He didn't even have his learners permit yet (illegal to be on the road without it) and here is the result of that driving lesson.

I took it in to the body shop today - the insurance company for the "driver" (well his parents since he isn't even on the policy) is covering the damages 100% and I have a rental mini van until it is fixed.

I wasn't upset so much about the accident. It scared me good - but once I saw it was a kiddo driving all the anger left me. The only thing that kinda "gets my goat" is the fact that he didn't even have his permit yet and his parents thought it was perfectly acceptable for him to be driving on a very busy road.

Everyone is OK though - and that is all that matters. :)

Oh, Jen! Your poor car!! I'm glad you were fine, though. Poor kid...what a lesson to learn right off the bat. {{{HUG}}}

Sorry to hear about the accident, but glad everyone is alright. Something similar happened to my DW about 7 years ago. She was hit by a teenage boy without a permit, but was driving his girlfriend's car and she was not old enough to be a driving teacher even if he had a permit. KY law says that the instructing driver cannot be a minor even if they have a license. Our car was only a month old! To top it all off, my DW was 8 1/2 months pregnant! The car was drivable, but she had to spend a few hours at the hospital to make sure everything was alright. They got her pre checked in for the delivery while we were there though :rotfl2: It saved us a half hour or so a few weeks later at least. The thing that upset my DW the most was bringing home the new DD in a rental car.

Yikes that IS scary - being pregnant and having that happen. Glad she was ok. The boy was driving his Moms car - a brand new Nissan Altima she had just gotten for Christmas.

Jen,
Glad your okay - and the driver as well. He must be as shaken as you were! I'm sure the body shop will get your red beauty back in shape in no time!!:)
Blessings,
Marge
