Sad News About Bonny Eby

How horrible! I remember her from the boards. I will be praying for her family.

Spoke to Andrew this morning. He is hanging in there, taking one day at a time. He is still working on getting MJ into a day school and hope that will get settled out in the next week or so.

A couple folks asked me for Andrew's address but I deleted your emails :(
I now have his ok to share the address so if you still want it, please email me at allearsnet@ yahoo.com

You can also email me if you want information on how you can assist the family.

I"m printing off the threads to mail to Andrew. He is very appreciative of everyone's thoughts and prayers and well wishes.

I'm hoping they finally got SSI for MJ in which case at least they'll still have that income for her care, plus as far as I know Andrew still works fulltime for Disney. We have excellent health insurance that pays 100% for DME, tube feeding, etc. with no deductibles- one of the reasons I work there too. At least their income hasn't decreased- when I lost my husband it was financially devastating as we lost his income too. It's hard enough to be emotionally devasted and I know it must be rough for Andrew right now just coping with his loss let alone dealing with all the details of MJ's care. I know she is eligible for respite care- perhaps once she's in school other SN parents and her teachers will help Andrew to get services for her that are covered by state programs.---Kathy

Yes they have SSI for MJ.

That's good that they do have the SSI to supplement Andrew's income. At Disney we get a paid week off for bereavement leave at least. Although it's really not enough time to grieve, it should give Andrew time to enroll MJ in public school. She will then qualify for transportation to/from and possibly an aide as well. It will probably be a shock to her to be in school when she's been home with her Mom and it will be a huge adjustment for Dad and daughter. I can't even imagine their home without Bonny's laughter and love in it. I hope Andrew's work location helps him with his schedule- that could be a real hurdle and even though Disney offers FMLA it's unpaid leave and there's a limit to how much can be used w/in a year. Hopefully there are some stay-at-home Moms or Dads in their apartment complex or friends that can help watch MJ after school or again, they should qualify for some state assistance for that. I know for my own situation even Disney pays for caregivers up to a certain limit per year. It doesn't help me ( I only could get a RN/LPN and home health agencies won't take me as a client) but they should help MJ at least until they get some assistance from the state. ---Kathy
