:sad2: We just got back a few days ago from the land and sea. It was WONDERFUL! I am just doing the Disney Blues thing. No ketchup in the shape of Mickey...stranger look at me like I am crazy when I try to strike up a conversation....and where are all the people wearing Disney clothes? It's all so sad. When do I get to move in at the Magic Kingdom? Who has seriously considered quitting their job and moving to Orlando to work at the Happiest Place on Earth? I am sure my second graders would survive if I pick up and leave them. By the way, I go back to school tomorrow and the first thing I am going to do is teach them how to draw Mickey as I learned at the Art of Animation! WHEN DO I GET TO GO BACK? Knew you all would understand!

I'm with you...I feel so sad every time I come back, but now that I have this site..it's like I am there again. I only have 300 days til I go again....Yes, I said that when I retired that I was going to go there even if I had to sweep the streets at Magic Kingdom:) However, I am now retired and I care for my granddaughter and another little girl...so I guess I am happy most of the time but withOUT Mickey and Minnie and ....Just think of all the happy faces when you go back to your classroom:)

I know how you feel. I don't know when I will be able to go again and it's driving me crazy... :(

:grouphug: That's what the Dis is for!!
To help us get through between trips!!

:goodvibes Happy vibes to you all!!

Yes, sadly we have all been there. I just look for a way to start planning my next trip. My only problem now is my kids will be in college for our next trip. I am just wondering how many next trips I have with them. Not sure I could go without them. Guess that is another topic. You are not alone, time does make it better. Just visit here often and relive your magic.

We have to stop this sadness. Think Pollyanna. Find the good.
Close your eyes and pretend you're walking down Mainstreet USA!
Feel the magic.

I feel this same way after each trip! What I always do is come home and look at the calendar....then I book my next trip!!!! ;) Then the fun of planning starts all over! Hugs!

I know just how you feel. I always get the post-Disney blues :sad2: That's why we have our Mickey mugs, Disney glasses, sweatshirts and photos - to keep us in touch with the magic. And, of course, the DISboard. :)

Right there with you! We got home and decided that annual passes were a good way to go for us. We will be getting them soon. WDW is a complete escape from reality, but this board is a great surrogate if we can't be there!

And yes... I see myself sweeping the streets, too!

I feel your pain! I am so glad to have joined this board because I now actually have people out there who understand what I'm talking about. I have gone to WDW for 10 years in a row, each summer, except for 1 winter, with my family. We always stay in the concierge section, and the service is wonderful. We now stay for 2 weeks at a time. When I get home, it takes me weeks to get over the sadness of not being there, of not being served and pampered. I am a stay at home mom and I have always taken care of everything without any outside help, which most of my friends do have. This is the only vacation we take each year. When we come back, we all start the countdown to next summer. We also look forward to the Christmas parade which we watch on tv each year. It excites us to see the familiar sites and sounds and it keeps us going for a short while. We also keep in touch with some of the cast members that have become like family to us.

We are going for Thanksgiving!! :cool1: I haven't been for 10 years. DS goes with the folks across the street every year and DD got to go with her High Marching Band for New Years 2 years ago.

On to the subject I did know someone who packed it in and went to work at MK, supposedly she is Minnie!!

My only problem now is my kids will be in college for our next trip. I am just wondering how many next trips I have with them.

There's always the College Program. Then they could do what my oldest did and stay on as a full-time CM! I'm seriously toying with going down and trying to get on as seasonal part time...

Just remember, you can jump in here and talk about it. And you can go the the WDW site and review hotel, restraunts, menus, attractions, tours,....:woohoo:

Ahh.. we all know the feeling. It's the post disney blues. Byfar one of the worst post- syndroms and is curable only with another trip to the wonderful, enchanted Disney World!

Agreed! We actually leave in the morning to go to WDW - but I'm already dreading coming back home!!!

Oh I know what you mean. We still have 2 months to wait, but I catch myself not wanting it to come because then it's over!

Our January trip was the first time we had ever been to WDW. I honestly thought something was wrong with me that I felt so depressed after it was over! That is until I found my kindred spirits here on the DIS!
