I have just received word that as of today we have lost 3,000 American troops. Though each is as valuable as the other, how very sad.

Maybe we should have a Federal Day of Mourning. Oh wait, that would be trivial and useless. Sorry for that. I just couldn't stop myself. Getting all my snark out before 2007 starts.![]()

A Spring soldier whose death was announced by the military Sunday raised the tally compiled by the Associated Press of U.S. military deaths in Operation Iraqi Freedom to at least 3,000.
At the time of his death Thursday, Spc. Dustin Donica, 22, was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division.
"Dustin had a tremendous sense of duty, both to his family and his country," according to a statement released Sunday by his family. "He will be missed
