Sad day in the neighborhood-- Mr. Rogers...

Oh...I know it's bizarre, but I am so upset. I watched his show faithfully when I was little, he was a calm and gentle presence and said every show "I'll be back." And he always was.

My kids (5 and 8) still watch the shows.. when he would go to pick out a sweater.. they would call out colors.. red, blue, green.. and they would cheer if he picked the color they shouted out...

My mom says I used to kiss the TV when Mr. Rogers was on... :D

Mr. Rogers has such an impact on the kids....I certainly hope they continue to air Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. He is in our prayers.

I watched Mr. Rogers as an older child when my sister was young. Now, my 3 year old DD watches him almost every day. Since his show has not been in production for a couple of years, I'm sure that our local PBS station will continue to broadcast his shows through the end of the season.

I was extremely sorry to hear about this also.

I'm sorry to hear that he has crossed over. He made the world a better place and had a wonderful, quiet way of explaining things to children.

I'm sure he will live on through his television show and touch many more children through the years. Thank you Mr. Rogers!

I absolutely loved that man when I was a little girl. It just breaks my heart to lose him. :( :( :(

I cant think of anyone other man who had such a way of communicating , and making young people feel good (with the exception of Walt Disney) than Fred Rogers. Watching his show had a real effect on me as a child. HE is what made the show special. There was no high tech effects or glitz , or "in your face" hoopla that plague so many kids' shows today. He was very understated. And it worked!

This has me really bummed out today. Mr. Rogers was my favorite when I was a little kid. A few years ago I wrote to him for an autograph and he was so kind. He sent two autographed photos for me and DD. He wrote me a wonderful letter which was handsigned, and threw in all kinds of other goodies. This is one man who didn't have to pass go and collect $200 - he went straight to heaven.:(
