sad, a little annoyed, yet hopeful

I just got off the phone at the crack of dawn with reservations. There are no 1 bedrooms left at the discounted rate at VWL I am a little annoyed. If you have a promo coming up wait till the official start of the promo to take codes. I called the second they opened and they were already sold out. Not that they couldn't have been snapped up this morning, but I have a feeling with all the codes being used over the weekend that had something to do with it. (not that I wouldn't have called in this weekend had I seen the boards ) I am hopeful. The same thing happened to us last year and I obsessively called and checked online and a 2 bedroom opened up at 40%. I do have hope, I was just really really excited to book it this morning.......

It is tougher to get a deal at a DVC property since the owners get first crack at reservations......

I don't know how DVC works, but could you not have booked it early and add the discount code later?

We are not DVC members....You can book VWL rooms anytime and they do have one bedrooms left, just none discounted. She said that they may have released as little as 2 rooms under the discount. I'll just keep trying. We got pixie dusted last year maybe it will happen again.

Call again and maybe you will get a CM who will help you find another code. I tried to book kids free with the codes here Saturday and the CM said that they were not working for Pop and they must have been used up. She put me on hold for a few minutes and came back with a different kids free code that worked. I thought it was insane that the rooms available for that code were used up at Pop too!! It wasn't even Monday yet...

There are only a certain number of rooms available with any particular code. If a resort has already reached a certain occupancy/reservation rate for a particular room category before the code came out, that category will not be available under the code. (That's why the codes always say, at "select" resorts.)

You probably didn't miss the 1 bedrooms available under the code over the weekend. More likely, there were never any 1 bedrooms available under the code.

I'm in the same boat, we had a 2 bed villa at BLT for May booked and when I called at 7:01 the CM said all discounts for that room type were already gone!

Lile - keep checking...last year the exact same thing happened to us and I kept checking back and something opened up.

I also did ask the CM if it was indeed included in the discount and she informed me that yes it was "on the list" I didn't want to keep checking back if wasn't even ever on the list!

Well, none have opened up so I have moved our reservation to BLT. I am excited to try here - It has everything that VWL does, except you can WALK to the MK and it has the monorail, so logistically it's better, we're just VWL lovers at heart In fact my hubby and son have even said that they won't even eat or shop there this trip since we're not staying :eyeroll My daughter and I are much more excited for the contemporary than they are....
