I have been reading they are very strict about only resort guests swimming at Stormalong Bay. What if you are staying at the Beach Club and you Sister and her family are staying at the Boardwalk. Do you think they would have a problem with my sister and her family swimming at SAB?

I have been told that you have to show your BC or YC reosrt ID. Without it you do not get in.

SAB is gated, and yes, you have to show your room key in order to get a wristband to enter. This pool gets very crowded and DVC members can't even hop to use this pool. You can always plan a day trip to TL or BB with your sister's family if pool time is important to you.

YEs, they always check at SAB but if you're visiting in a slower time they might allow it. I would def ask...all they can say is no.:)

Why not head over to TL or BB and then you can swim together? Or get your sister to switch her reservation over to BC, YC or BCV.

Ask at the hotel. Disney wants to make their customers happy and will do so if possible.

PS - We've been to SAB twice before (when staying at the BCV); once the person checking keys only asked for one key from the whole party and the second time no one was there to check at all. So while they are sometimes very strict; sometimes they are not

Why would you post something that goes against the rules of the resort? You're really not being fair to the guests who pay to stay at YC/BC/BCV.

Because we, as guests, don't get to decide how the rules of the resort are enforced. That's Disney's job and its been reported that sometimes they bend them. I don't think you are being fair to the OP by suggesting that they have to follow rules that Disney sometimes doesn't follow

Then why bother having the rules? I think Disney actually thinks that each guest will abide by the rules that they put in place. Otherwise, why would they post these on a board by the pool? I still don't think you are being fair to the guests of that resort.

I'm going to have to disagree with you. I think Disney makes rules for the situations that are at the top of the spectrum. For example, its Spring Break and the resort is full and its warm and everyone is trying to use the pool in the afternoon. This is a great time to enforce the rule to the fullest. At the other end of the spectrum. Its January, its 11:00AM, 15 people are in the pool, the OP goes to the front desk and asks if their family, also staying onsite, can join them for at SAB. Way wouldn't Disney want to allow this? They have plenty of room and can make magic for their guests. They are paying the lifeguards anyway and no one will probably even notice. I still don't think you are being fair to the OP.

I would find another place to swim.

We're staying at BCV this summer.
My parents decided they wanted to come to WDW and stay at POP, while we stay at BCV. I talked them into coming to WDW another time...a time when we won't be at BCV. I explained that this summer, they'd never get to see the grandkids because we would be in SAB most of the time & they wouldn't even be able to join us.

You should check with the lifeguard when you get there. If they say it is ok then enjoy yourselves.

The pool does have signs stating that it is for resort guests only. If they feel like making a little magic they could allow you to swim there.
