We (me, my friend J, her DD(10) and my DS (6)) will be in WDW for the first time in early August.

Our current reservations are for 3 nights at POFQ, 3 nights at the beach and then 2 nights at AKL. However I'm wondering if it's worth springing for the BC or YC for those first three nights instead. The only way I can justify that however, is if I don't get "plus" tickets and instead apply the savings towards the difference in price.

DS LOVES water -- pools, swimming, waterslides etc . . . My question is whether it's better to have access to a great pool (with waterslides, sand etc . . . ) every day or to spend a few days at the waterparks and have a not quite as great pool the other days. One thing I think might be welcome would be the fact that SAB doesn't have significant lines (is this true) whereas after a few days at the other parks he might balk at standing in line to ride the rides at TL and BB.

Also, if you vote for SAB which would you choose -- BC or YC??

DS13 & I will be at WDW 2wks this Aug
During our first wk at VWL we're planning a day at Typhoon Lagoon and pool hopping to the Poly, GF & Contemp (DVC)
Our 2nd wk we're staying at the BCV and will have use of Stormalong Bay. We're also planning on hopping over to Boardwalk's pool.

Its August! Great for lots of pool/waterpark time

Eeks! If you swtched from the YC to AKL, the kids might be disappointed in the slide at AKL. The slide at POFQ is even babyish to my DS (7). Best pools and slides (for a mod and deluxe) are CSR and BC/YC. Stormalong Bay is so great for families because adults can relax while the kids play. I know I would get too overwhelmed at a water park trying to keep an eye on DS. YC/BC has the best location, as well. I would do the beach at the end of the trip (to wind down). sorry I could not be of more help.

I think you would enjoy the location of the Beach club and the pool. you can use your hopper pass to walk to Epcot it is really nice.

Many places refer to SAB as a mini water park, but I think that's stretching it a bit. With just one slide, the line can get long at times. If the kids really like slides, then I would definitely go to the water parks. We stay at BCV and use to hop over there as DVC members, but we would still go to the water parks. SAB is a great pool, but no comparison to TL or BB.
