We will being staying at the BC for the first time in Oct. We have 2 DD ages 4 and 7. We went to a local waterpark for the first time this year and they were not interested in the "fast" rides...loved the lazy river and a few of the tamer rides (large family style raft etc) also really liked the splash pool area with little things that shot water out of the pool...

my question is do those of you with experience with SAB think that this would satisfy their water "needs" or would we be really missing out if we chose to skip the waterparks...

thank-you

hi: i would let your little ones use sab and see their reactions. they may not want to go to any of the waterparks.

We stayed at the BCV in May with our 4 year old, who is learning to swim. She loved SAB, especially the kids slide behind the shipwreck! That pool is separate from the larger areas, and is 3 feet deep. She also loved the zero entry area with the sand. She was too big (according to her ;) ) for the "baby" pool. We also rented a large tube (2 seater) for the lazy river area (It gets to 8 feet deep in that part and is heavily guarded). We were there 10 days and planned to go to TL, but then decided that SAB was so easy and met our needs, why bother? We have annual passes and my DH was at TL for surfing lessons, but we still stuck with SAB for our little one. When she is a better swimmer, we may try TL.

Also, since we are DVC members, we can pool hop, so we went to the BW for variety. It was fun for a short while, but she wanted to go right back to the kids slide at SAB.

Have a great trip!

I've been wondering the same thing. We're staying at BCV next month; and I've been thinking SAB might be enough for our 4 yo. We were planning on using our check-in day to do BB; but now I'm thinking we might be just as well off at SAB. Thanks for the info!:)

We stayed at BC when my DD was 3 and she too loved the kiddie area with the sand bottom. We went to both TL and BB and had a blast, but I'm not sure you'll feel it absolutely necessary to do one or the other. BB does have a cute kiddie area with spraying water, slides, and wading pool. Here's some pics of the area.

We have yet to go to one of the water parks, because our kids love the pools at the resorts. I always plan a water park day (yep - have one planned for our Jan. trip!) but they are perfectly happy at the resort pool (Poly in particular).

Now we have never been to the SAB, but it is supposed to be the most fun of the Disney pools - so I bet you could just skip the water parks!

thanks for you comments....I think we will drop the water park from our schedule and leave one whole day unplanned for the unexpected....

I think that SAB sounds like it will meet our needs..last time we went there was only one DD and she was 4 ..she was happy with POR pool and the slide there so I think we are moving up from that pool (even though we thought it was great!)

thanks again...I like having some time unaccounted for...
