Can anybody tell me how roomy/big space wise they feel the 2BR is. e.g. there is the 4 of us and we are thinking of taking my M & D. I know it sleeps 8 but do you feel you are tripping over each other. And also if it was just the 4 of us how is the 1BR for space.

With the 2 bedroom, it depends on who sleeps where. If you give your folks the master, you will be sharing the 2nd bedroom with the kids on a sleep sofa, or one of them would have the sleep sofa in the living room. The other choice would be to put the kids in the 2nd bedroom and give your parents the sleep sofa, but I'm not sure I could do that.

DISCLAIMER: Although we've not stayed at SSR, the rooms are comparable to those of BCV, BWV & VWL. (The 1 & 2 bedroom units at OKW are noticably larger).

For us, as long as no one has to sleep in the living room, the 1 & 2 bedroom units are wonderful. It's just so nice to have the living room / kitchen areas available for anyone who wants to stay up late or get up early. Can't do that if someone is sleeping there. Of course, if it's my young children sleeping there (in the 1 bedroom) that doesn't matter, but if it's another couple, it certainly does!

Anyway, IMHO the 2 bedrooms are very comfortable for 6 people if two of them are children that can comfortably sleep in the 2nd bedroom with one of the adult couples.

OK. DVC has kind of spoiled me - but even before DVC, we would not have shared a hotel room with anyone other than our daughter.

I think you will be quite comfortable sharing a 2 bedroom with your parents for a week or two - assuming you all get along, of course.

Best wishes -

LOL, and that is the real crux of this matter! :teeth:

In January 05 we stayed at SSR with our 2 DD's and my MIL & FIL. We had a 1 bedroom for us (put the kids on the sofa) and the in-laws were in the lock-off studio (2nd bedroom). This way if the in-laws wanted to get up early or needed coffee or drinks, they had their own and the kids didn't get bothered. It worked out great for us! :flower: Enjoy your trip!

Sound ideal,

Grand Villa would be even nicer :goodvibes but far to many points to justify it I think for just the 6 of us.

We usually consider the guests coming with us and then decide what size unit by the sleeping arrangement needs of everyone. I certainly think a 2 bedroom is more than enough room for your situation. If you opt for the kids having the living room and giving your folks the second bedroom, be sure to request a lock off.

sorry for the 20 questions but what is the difference if it isn't a lock off

A 2 bedrrom is an actual 2 bedroom suite. A lock-off is a 1 bedrrom with a studio attached (the studio has it's own microwave, refrigerator).

Also, a dedicated 2 bedroom has 2 queens (I think) in the 2nd bedroom, versus a queen and a sleeper sofa in the lock-off studio.

I don't know how old your children are and that makes a difference to me as well. If they are younger, then having them sleep in the bedroom with you (and giving your inlaws the master) might work best, but mine would LOVE to sleep with their grandparents right now at 5 and 3 (and the grandparents are ALL for it). IF they are older, then I say pull out the sleeper sofa for them. They will want to stay up as late as you do anyway and you won't feel like you are bargin in on the grandparents in the morning hours to get coffee.

Have fun!!!
