I posted on the cruise board but they suggested I post here. Can anyone tell me anything about the member cruise? Where can I find prices if I don't want to use points? How does it differ from a non-member cruise? Are there perks? Thanks for anything you can tell me.

I can tell you, that if you want to go, they still have space available.

I was surprised (ok. not really) to see they were actively selling cabins at the Member Merry Mixer on Dec 27th.

It usually sells out within hours, but due to DVC changing the direction and focus of the cruise, it is not as hot a ticket as it once was.

I went in 2005 and 2006. I was extremely pleased in 2005 (worth every extra penny) and downright disappointed in 2006. From now on I will avoid paid events offered by DVC.

If you are looking to add on to your membership and want a good incentive, then go, otherwise there were very few perks.

We were on the first member cruise and we were amazed at the lovely gifts left each evening in our stateroom. We ended up shipping things back to Chicago via UPS once we got back to Orlando.

There is a special feeling when you are on a member cruise. The DVC Flag is flying on the ship and everywhere you go there are fellow members to chat with.

Plus, we will have two days at Castaway Cay this year on the cruise. Needless to say, we are going and have booked a category 6 with verandah!

Give MS a call to check availability and they will have the cash prices for you also. Good luck!
