Hi I was wondering if anyone has any experience with applying for a second Southwest Credit Card where the first one is in my name first and my husband is on it and we used his income(I'm a stay at home mom) and so now I was wondering if we could apply for a second card with his name first and I'm on the card too? We have the premier card now.

Any suggestions or thoughts? I don't really want to apply for a new card knowing there is no chance of us getting it, our credit is great so that will not be a problem but I'm thinking because we used my husbands income the first go around they will not give us a second card.

Thanks for any ideas or suggestions....

They will give you a second card or a third for that matter. However, if u are looking for the 50k points read the app very carefully as there is typically a clause indicating that it is for a first time ( aka new) card member, not anyone that already has a card. So I guess the q would be... Is an authorized user an actual cardholder. My thought is that it is a cardholder.
I guess it'd be best to call chase so ur not disappointed. good luck! Let us know what they say.

Just wanted to add I re read ur post... If ur just looking to get another card using the same income criteria, you generally can. As long as the debt to credit ratio is good for the households income. Good luck. What I said previously would likely still apply tho.

We applied for SW cc's one in DH's name and one in my name and we got both. Although then I tried to get a business card for DH as well and that was turned down. After we got his bonus points we cancelled his so we could concentrate on earning points in only one RR account. That was a couple of years ago. Last month I then applied for and got the Premier card in my name.

I think you should be able to get a second card in your DH's name first. It won't hurt to try.

If you are trying to apply for the new 50K offer there is a clause that if you already have a card and got the 50K credit on your current card then you are not eligible for the new offer. Anyone who got 50K points in the last 24 months are not eligible for another offer unless you apply for a different type of card in your case the business card

FYI the 50K offer ended yesterday.

I think the fine print does state that, yes, but most people report that in reality, if you have the person $69 card and $99 and get the bonus and reach 110,000, you get a companion pass.
