So I started the process a while back to purchase a Resale Contract and we are at the end of the process and back on 5/28/21 I received a email from the company saying Contract was being sent to be recorded then onto DVC. At this time I thought great I should see it soon(we own 2 other contracts but they went thru DVC and were very quick showing up under our acct) Fast forward a few weeks I noticed under my acct that the Contract was showing up and I'm thinking wonderful, I don't know when this happened but I posted here on June 14th asking if this was what happens where the Contract info shows up but no points show and someone responded and said yes but I should see my points soon. Well fast forward another few weeks and nothing... Am I being impatient? does it take this long after your Contract shows up to see any points? should I call DVC? or should I continue waiting because it really does take this long?

I think DVC may intentionally drag their feet a bit on resale purchases so it does take longer than direct purchases.

My understanding is that it will take 3-4 weeks after closing for the points to be "loaded" into the new resale contract.

I think they may need to bring in heavy equipment for that process and that equipment is under high demand right now. ;)

Well I'm certainly at the end of that timeline since I think as of today its been 4 weeks. does anyone know if I take the time(I've heard calling DVC is a night mare for being on hold thats why I ask) will they be able to help or adding point onto your acct isn't in their job description?

Perhaps contacting the resale broker for their suggestion would at least give you some peace of mind.

Calling MS can be a challenge. If you opt to do that, I'd call right at 9am when they open - but recognize that the person you speak with will NOT likely have the ability to load the points into your account while you wait. At best, they will note that you called and asked about the delay.

I know this doesn't help, but I think I'd at least give the resale broker an opportunity to try their hand at getting YOUR points loaded into the account.

Please update this once you know more or find the points in your account! :)

I'm on hold now trying to get mine loaded.....wish me luck. My contract showed up in my account on Wednesday so I have not been waiting that long but I need to get things going for an August trip. They seem to be focused on my "closing date". They did not care about the deed recording date.

Thanks everyone for the info and I will make some calls and when I get an update post it here..

Update: I called Member Services this morning and the wait online wasn't that long at all and a really nice lady helped me out with my points not showing up and she put me on hold and went to another dept and was told it could take another 1 to 3 weeks for them to post my points. That would mean from my closing date of 5/26/21 it could take up to 7 weeks for my points to show up? I told her I have never heard of it taking this long and she said that I could email the Administration Dept of DVC and ask them to look into it.
So folks what now, should I go back to the company I purchased the points from? can they do anything? or is emailing this Administration Dept the way to go? any one have this issue before?
this is my first Resale contract and I never thought it would take this long to complete.

I wish I could give you an answer. I have been sitting at my desk here at work all morning going through the discussion boards trying to find a theme to all of the numbers (I'm not neglecting my job, just no customers today, bad weather equals no patients in the clinic). No, I am not a statistician. I have a doctorate in medicine so I'm just trying to find some type of theme in the numbers. The girl yesterday kept revisiting my "closing date". When I gave her my deed recording date, she didn't seem to care. She came back onto the phone and confirmed by closing date again and even knew exactly how many points, including banked points, I was waiting on. So, we need to make friends with someone who knows the real process and can fill us all in. However, so far, I have not found a theme. Those with the same closing date had their points two days before I did so now I am looking at whether or not the property bought plays into the game.

I think the timeline you are being given is worst case scenario because with the current closing in mid July, I wonder if they are making sure to under promise when things can happen. If your contract is not yet showing, then MA is who you need to contact.

If it is, then it is a division of MS who can actually get points loaded. Now, last year, there was an issue with MS not having what they needed from MA to do that, even though the contract was loaded and it took a few days to get it all sorted out, but I called daily to check.

So, I would just keep calling if the contract is there and just ask if they have what they need to get the points loaded and that you are waiting to get something booked!

idisneyfan when was your closing date? and your resort? My date is 5/26/21 and my resort is Saratoga Springs.

Sandisw the contract is loaded onto my acct which is a good thing but no points are listed. the points on my Resale contract are in my 2021 use yr so thats good if they were from my Dec 2020 use yr i'd be freaking out about now since my banking window is July. I will email the dept she told me to and then try calling again and tell them I'm looking to book something next yr with those points, which is true actually.

Its just a real bummer that this contract didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped.

thanks for the help

I closed June 10th. I purchased Boulder Ridge. I had 127 banked points from 2020 and 175 for 2021 with an April UY. Maybe having expiring point or current availability of points plays into it. IDK. I'm just pulling it out of the air at this point.

Interesting, my points are 30 banked points and 15 borrowed that should show up in my Dec 2021 use year. And then my 2022 use year should be 35 points and then going forward will be my reg amount of points which is 50. So maybe the issue is when your new contract has a mixed kind of points it takes longer now for them.

They handle contracts like that all the time. Either call Member Administration yourself tomorrow or else contact your broker and see if they will follow up. I had to on my last contract and it was loaded in less than an hour. Had been waiting 4-5 weeks.

I think MA is one of the options when you call MS so you might try calling right at 9am tomorrow morning.

Good luck! :)

Kat4disney can you tell me if Member Administration is a different phone number then Member Services and if so where might I find that number?

As mentioned they are an option in the phone tree when you call the regular DVC member services number.
