S/O... Movies you RATE (Highly)

For me there are three. In order:
  1. Requiem for a Dream. The most emotionally charged and adult film I have come across. Its ability to play on one's emotions and feelings is incredible. I can't watch it again - it's torn me apart already - but I recognise it as the best film I have ever seen.
  2. Hannibal. Very adult, but seamlessly put together. A lot of the reason I like Hannibal so much is the soundtrack. Hans Zimmer is impeccable, best music track for any film, ever. He even composed a short opera, to the words of Dante's Pilgrim, Vide Cor Meum (I see your Heart). So moving. Creepy film too, with a dark romantic undertone.
  3. Silence of the Lambs. Hopkins and Foster display the BEST on screen chemistry EVER. Did you know that Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter never blinks once in the film? There's no way that it should have gotten away with the rating it did - it's more adult even than that! - but it is an absolute masterpiece.
You could say that my taste in films is incredibly hard hitting, adult, even warped... you'd be right!

Please explain what rate means in this context... rate highly is what I assume.

Sorry, OP, I went to see Hannibal the night it was released in theaters. I LOVED the book and couldn't wait for the movie. I didn't notice any of the musicality of it. The movie was just so bad compared to the book. OTOH, Silence of the Lambs was AMAZING! One of my favorites.

Aside from that, my list is:

The Godfather
Any movie with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore (50 First Dates, Blended, The Wedding Singer)
Caddyshack
Animal House
Back to School
Billy Madison

I like comedies more than anything else.

I have a lot of movies I love and my top 10 list will change periodically, but my all-time top 3 never really does:

Lawrence of Arabia
The Godfather
Casablanca

My top ones I could and do watch over and over are
Grease
Bone Collector
Also Tremors (I love B sci fi!!)

the rest change with my mood
