I have been "married" for almost 5 years now. "DH" got a letter today saying we didn't sign our certificate.
We got married IN the courthouse by the JOP... the clerks who sent the letter were the ones who told us where to sign!
HOW can you mess that up?!?!? Evidently the letter states that we are in fact, legally married (thank God for insurance and tax purposes), but without the proper signatures, they can't file it with the public records department... it only took them 4 years, 8 months, and 30-ot days to catch it!
I can't imagine what a mess it would be if that letter said we weren't legally married! Oy! The IRS would be beating down our door for falsely filing taxes!
