Has anyone tried the sleepy wrap? I was looking at thier website, www.sleepywrap.com and I am thinking of buying one for my six week old son. My son was tiny when he was born, only 5lbs 13oz and is now up to just over 8lbs. He loves to be held and to be honest I love holding him, only I would like to be able to get more done around the house. I think he would like the wrap over the sling becuase he loves to be held in a more upright postion. I was just wondering what other babywears thought of this. TIA!

I'm not familiar with that brand, but it looks like every other stretchy wrap on the market and the price is reasonable. I have used every kind of baby carrier out there and found them all useful for different ages and purposes. I liked a stretchy wrap best when my daughter was very young and lightweight. Once she was about 15 pounds I switched to a woven wrap.

I have a Sleepy Wrap and liked using it when my twins were younger/smaller. It's a stretchy french terry fabric that washes up nicely.

It's comfy and easy to use. I also like using a sling-- especially when I'm out because it's easier to use. I can keep the sling on and just slip a baby in when needed-- I felt too silly wearing the Sleepy Wrap. I have the New Native sling.

Hope that helps...

Im SO sorry to hijack, but this has been on my mind lately! I am expecting twins, and I have been looking at wraps and slings and things to use with them. I have never used one before, so I am all new to baby wearing.. What worked best for you?

I would totally suggest checking out http://thebabywearer.com/ ..with that said i have used so many different kinds of carriers, some are better when baby is small and some for when they ae a bit older. I've never used a wrap..don't know why, but if i ever had another baby i totally would try it.
I loved my ring slings from http://www.sleepingbaby.net/index.php ..the customer service is great and they are so somfy..and pretty!
I also loved my peanut shell pouch http://www.thepeanutshell.com//
My Babyhawk Mei Tei was great.. http://www.babyhawk.com/
And my favorite SSC (soft structured carrier) was the Kanga X..i think she makes a baby size, a medium size and a tall for toddlers... http://hyenacart.com/blookangaroo/index.php?c=21&p=33928 These have buckles and a slightly padded wasitband..very comfy especially for back carries.
Babywearing makes life with a baby so easy..and i always LOVED having my girls close to me and not stuck in a stroller at all times..lol The girls loved going for "piggyback'' rides too..lol PM me if you have any other questions!! Good luck :goodvibes

It looks just like the Moby Wrap, which was great.

And then I got into just using my own fabric, after looking at mamatoto.org.

Then again, I have almost every good sling/carrier out there (or at least one brand's version) other than the sutemi (Japanese type baby carrier). They're all good for various things!

The wrap style, I will warn you, can get HOT. That's why for festivals I used normal fabric, wrapped in the Moby style, b/c that knit fabric was like a broiler for me. Good in the winter, though!

I have seen pictures of moms wrapping twins with the Moby wrap as well as woven wraps.
I personally have no experience with twins, but if you go to thebabywearer.com, there is a section devoted to wearing twins.
Good luck.

Oh, my vote is for the New Native, loved that one! Now that my kids have all grown out of it I have turned it into a sling bag for myself to carry, just couldn't let go of it.

I've heard good things about the sleepy wrap, but I've never tried it.
My favorite is the kangaroo korner adjustable fleece pouch.

I did use the sleepywrap (which I bought b/c it was cheaper than the Moby) to carry both babies in the beginning. It wasn't too bad and they were both snug and safe. I just wanted my arms free, even if I was only sitting on the sofa. They liked to nap on my, so this made it manageable.

I only used it in the house b/c it was rather unweildy-- over 3 yards of fabric!

I would sometimes carry both in the New Native sling. More often, I'd only carry one in it and have the other in a single stroller if I was going somewhere alone. It just made navigating much easier.

I will say that my New Native sling was a lifesaver in Disney. I'd sling one and carry the other baby on the bus while my husband had the double stroller, single stroller and our 5 year old daughter.

PM me if you have any questions or just want to chat about twins! There's a twin/multiples thread somewhere here... search for it.

Another vote for the Moby. I love mine and still use it. In fact I'll be using it at Disney next month. DS is 21 months. I love the flexibility with all the different ways to tie it. DS loves it too. Best of luck deciding!
