A few days ago DH and I made reservations to stay at the S/D during the Food & Wine Classic. We booked the special DIS rate of $169 per night which INCLUDES the F&WC!

After listening to the podcast this morning I am extremely excited about everything! The food sounds absolutely delicious, and I LOVE the idea of the wristbands. I wonder if Disney would ever consider doing that for Epcot F&W? I'm sure it would be a lot more expensive than $50 but it would be super convenient. DH and I are signed up for the Riesling Seminar. I'm excited!!

It really sounds like it's going to be a great event. I would sign up in minute if I was going to be there then. What a great deal you got, $169 including the event is awesome! I'm going to be really interested to hear the comparison between the Classic and F&W.

Have a great time!

I'm going to try and take down every detail including lots of pictures and I'll post them afterward.

I was really hungry while I was listening to the show which was torture!! If you haven't listened to the show yet make sure you eat something first. :)

I am also more excited after listening to the podcast. I booked the mixology for on the 9th because I was looking for something outside the parks on the last night. After hearing what they did for the food I am excited to see what drinks they will pair with it.

Can you buy the fifty dollar bracelet the day of the event or do you have to get one ahead of time?

I just read on the Disney Food Blog that you can show up the day of the event and buy a wristband or individual tickets for the event. Here is the link:

Also, I just called the phone number a little while ago and was told that all of the Seminars for both Friday and Saturday are sold out. They said to keep trying back and maybe there would be a cancellation. Right now, DH and I are scheduled to attend one on Saturday but I would have loved to try the Mixology or Champagne Seminar on Friday. I'll just have to keep calling! :-)

I howled when John mentioned "Bong Shrimp"

I also loved that they went totally "Unplugged" and were just talking about the Food & Wine Classic. It was awesome!

If we weren't staying at AKV, I would jump on the special hotel/Food Wine Classic in a heartbeat. I think we will just go over and decide then if we want a wrist band or just buy tickets. It really sounds like an awesome event.

A bunch of us food and wine freaks from the Restaurants board will be there on October 9th, Sharon. ;) The nice thing about this event is that you don't have to commit like the Disney events to a non-refundable payment. You can buy the wristband at the event, or opt to do it a la carte.

Thanks! I will definitely be getting a wristband for Friday, sounds like its gonna be a great time!

I was walking from the subway to work this morning listening to them smacking their lips and eating the various dishes and was positively drooling! Those shrimp bong things sound divine!

What are the details of this? Is there a minimum night stay? Is that the all you can eat wristbands? And if so how many people?

:) We'll be looking for all of you. I think we'll just buy tickets, if it'scrazy busy with long lines we probably won't stay long. :)

In order to get this price you have to call: 1-888-828-8850 and ask for rate code DISFWC. I believe there is no minimum stay but I could be wrong... we booked it for 3 nights; Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The F&WC is only Friday and Saturday nights so our stay includes a seminar each of those nights as well as a wristband for all you can eat and drink at the F&WC. The seminars are from 4:30 to 5:30 and the eating is from 5:30 to 9:30pm. Each person has to have a wristband if you want 'all you can eat and drink'.

I just called again to ask about the Seminar availability. There are a few spots open on Friday for Wine Blending and Sake. Saturday night is still sold out.
