Hi fellow DISers! I have a couple random ?'s...
1) The only day I can see Aladdin is Friday, May 13th. How early do I need to get in line & where to get optimal viewing?
2) Is this a busy time of year or are we OK not having a MM?
3) Should I make PS for Carnation Cafe or Cafe Orleans or am I OK making them the day of? I have never eaten at either one and want to with DH on this anniversary trip.:goodvibes:)
4) Finally, I have yet to make hotel reservations but am leaning towards Alpine Inn or the Quality Inn on Manchester? We want walking distance, not super noisy and preferably a fridge & micro. As always, we are on a budget and would like it to be less than $100/night.

Sorry for so many random ?'s. :) I figured it was better to compile them all in one post.

Thanks for any advice you can give!

Aladdin - at least 30 minutes early. Try to sit int he center. I like the mezzanine. Other like the floor level.

May is not an especially busy time.

Always make a PS as you easily cancel them if you change your mind.

:wizard:

1, About 30 minutes early. Many don't want to be too close so they can see more of the show. Some prefer being on the mezzanine.
2, That is truly off season. you will notice it getting busier of Friday evening and Saturday.
3, I would always suggest reservation despite the low crowds. If you want to eat at a certain time reserve it.
4, For those hotels I'd ask for a courtyard room at the QI and not one facing the freeway for noise. You might also check the price on the closer Anaheim Plaza Inn.

Wow! Feedback from both Hydroguy & Skiiingfast! I appreciate all the info.

Skiingfast - What are the walking distances for QI and Anaheim Plaza? Overall, what are your thoughts on Anaheim Plaza? It is not one that has really been on my radar or heard mentioned much on the DIS.

TIA:)

From QI about 15 minutes. From Alpine inn about 12. From API 7. You would pass API, Anahiem Plaza Inn, coming from the Alpine inn.

I've stayed at the API before. It's an old motel, old building. So nothing super. But the grounds were very well kept. Has a big pool. Staff was helpful and quick. Tons of parking. It's the cheapest place on Harbor always.

So if you just need cheap, it's a great place if you don't come with the expectation that it should feel like a Hilton.
