I checked the FAQ but am not seeing any recent 7 day western Navigators?

Anyone know if I am just missing them? I see a couple 7 day easterns only?

Also, from reading the boards, it is my understanding that the 1st days Navigator is in your room when you board? And subsequent days Nav's are slipped under the cabin door sometime in the night before the next day begins?

Can anyone verify this? And possibly an approximent time for them showing up? (like will be able to look them over with an early room service breakfast and coffee? or could my night owl teens possible have them to look at around 2am?! yes, they are night owls!

I know I can plan out to wazoo and have a general idea of what each day will hold BUT until I actually "see" that days actually Navigator it is all up in the air. I am by no means a planning nut, just like to know my options and trying to coordinate, adults, and 4 kiddos could get tricky.

I'm also looking recent 3 night navigators-those in the faqs are from Feb

since there are some recent variations to the Eastern itinerary (St. Croix, Tortola), recent Eastern navigators have been posted for those -- no changes in the Western itinerary, so you can go by the older navigators.

when you get to your cabin, the first day's Navigator as well as the "week" Navigator will be there. You can get extras at Guest Services.

each night, your room host will put the next day's Navigator on your bed along with a towel animal (generally in the 9pm time frame). Again, you can get extras at Guest Services.

Oh awesome! so they are actually available the night before! :cool1:

That makes life so much easier! Wonder if I can just go by Guest Services after dinner and pick up the next days?

As posted, the navigators don't change very much from cruise to cruise or from year to year for each itinerary, which is why people don't submit them for each cruise. The ones in the FAQ will tell you the shows for each night, the theme nights and a good idea of what you will probably see during the day for activities onboard.

A partial Navigator will be given to you at checkin. I believe there will be a full one (Welcome Aboard) in your room when you check in (if I am remembering correctly). But each night you will have one in your stateroom when they turn down the rooms. You can also pick one up at any time (for the current day) at guest services.

I usually pick up an extra each day to take home and also keep one with me to use during the day.

Again, thank you Lisa and MMouse37, you both always have great info.

I am quite certain I am overthinking all of this! :rotfl:

It is the onboard activities I am interested in seeing and hearing about and therefore will just have to go on what has happened in the past and/or wait until we are onboard.

It is alll for 'naught anyway is my guess as my family (DH and teens) are famous for sabatoging my best laid plans for a last minute hankerin' to do or see something right then. :sad2:

You would think by now I would have learned to "go with the flow" but not so much!

You are not alone. :) I have printed out club activities when they were in a seperate navigator for each group so that I could plan our Palo times by what the kids might be most interested in and therefore less resistant about going to the club during that time. ;) DCL doesn't plan on people doing as many repeat cruises as some actually do so they do not vary the activities much. Why fix what isn't broken I guess is their philosophy. They also have alternate navs ready to print out and distribute if a port has to be missed, including CC.

with the large percentage of repeat cruiser I see this as one flaw of DCL. Now I loved Disney Dreams, but after all these years can we mix it up some. On the other hand I hated Toy Story and will not see it a second tme on this cruise! At least the others I will see again. They need to realize they should add something new every few months. Same thing with the gift-have tiered gifts so you do not get more bags than you can possibly use!!

The next day navigators are often ready at guest services at dinnertime (at least for late seating). We grab a couple and discuss over dinner what activities our group might like to do together the next day (or at least have an idea where the rest of the family will be when you are wandering the ship looking for them! :lmao:

.

yeah, more good news! Next day Nav's at late dinner AND someone getting ready to post brand new Nav's from 6/13th cruise! woo-hoo!

Thanks everyone!

PS I did find the new Nav's over on the Other board (can I say Pass*orter here?) But haven't been able to download them yet.

I would love to have a copy of the most recent Navigator for the 7 day Eastern cruise that includes St Croix. Does anyone have a link for it? Please reply with a link.
Thanks!

Yes Passporter can be posted here. If not it would have been deleted. :thumbsup2

OK, I went to look at some of the older Navigators for the 4-night Wonder cruises. Some of them have Castaway Cay on Monday and Nassau on Tuesday; these were in 2009. Also (and this is not a big deal for me; just asking), the return time to the ship in Nassau was 2 a.m. Do the itineraries change during the year, or is it due to outside influences (weather, civil unrest, etc.? Will we get a cruise itinerary (I know; subject to change) with our travel documents so we can properly plan for Palo and port excursions?

Sorry if this is OT, but IF I book an excursion and the itinerary changes, will I have the option to rebook, cancel w/o penalty, or both?

TIA for any help you all can give this cruise newbie! :surfweb:

If the itinerary changes they will usually just switch your reservations to the appropriate day in port. Sometimes the ship was not able to dock at CC and the captain will try again on the regular sea day...so navigators that appear here will show a different schedule because they print new ones if that happens. Also, there was a time when the 4 day cruises were switched up...I can't remember the real reason but DCL was trying to tell people it was due to gas prices [which made no sense at all].

I would be interested in the new navigators for the western considering the old ones dont help me----the ages fot the magic club activities have changed...now the 8-10 are all together and the 11-13 are in the quest. This change is not on the old navigators so not knowing whats going on makes it hard to plan my palo. Toddlehouse..I look forward to seeing ur navigators!
