So I have been to the parks since Disney came out with the new FP+ program and at the time we could only have 3 FP+ a day and that was it....but on doing research for this trip coming up I read that we can now get more FP+ after our 3 pre booked ones are used, am I reading this right? so if this is right how does this work, we can keep getting FP+ 1 right after the other after our first 3 are used or are we only allowed 1 more?
Also when the FP+ program first came out and we only could get 3 FP+ people were saying that booking our 3 for the afternoon was the way to go so we could tour the park in the morning then when the parks were busier in the afternoon we would use our 3 FP+'s, do people still do it this way and just add on after that or do most people book their 3 pre booked FP+'s in the morning?
I hope this makes sense and anyone who has been to the parks way more then I have could give me some ideas and also I'm looking for confirmation that I understand what I read correctly and if I didn't can you guys set me straight...

Thanks

bolded is correct - use your first 3 then get a 4th FP use it then get a 5th etc

plans vary on when to book your Fp. We book them in the early afternoon and then try to get more. Generally (IMO ) it is fairly easy to get more 'good' FP at MK than any other park.

Does the one-park-per-day rule still apply when getting more after you've used your three?

You can book a 4th and subsequent at another park. But you have to do it from a kiosk in that park. Unless you can get your hotel concierge to do it for you.

exactly - we tend to PH so we go to RD at the 1st park then book FP + for our 2nd park (usually PH around lunchtime) then we aim to get additional FP if wanted/ needed (we tend to go during very low crowd times)

What worked well for us was booking our first 3 FPs late morning/early afternoon (like 11:00, 12:00 and 1:00). So we could take advantage of RD time before standby lines were long, but still use our FPs and be able to get more while there were good ones left for the late afternoon and evening. We were able to get a total of 6 (3 pre-booked, 3 more after) at MK on a busy day just before Christmas, it was great.

We have not park-hopped since FP+ started, so I'm not sure how that might change your strategy.

If you stay at the same park as your prebooked FP+ can you use your iphone app to book them or do you need to find a Kiosk in that park too

Thank you! It has only been a little more than a year since my last trip and I feel like a total newbie navigating all the FP+ stuff. We're going to be doing a lot of hopping - morning in one park, break to swim or have a leisurely late lunch/early dinner during the hot part of the day, evening somewhere else - so I'll check out evening availability when we get to our second park.
