It's been a few years since I've been on a cruise so I'm out of touch with the new way to do check in at 30 days. So I've been looking for a step by step list of instructions for the check in and I've had no luck so far and I was wondering where I could find this info? Any suggestions? I'm not very computer savy so the easiest the better.
Can you also tell me what you found to be the easiest way to upload your items? do you use your computer or iphones?
If traveling with a friend did you have your friend send you the items needed and you did the work or can I start the check in and then have my friend attached her items needed and then I finish it up.

Any help would be appreciated,

I always handle the little details for my family. Wife does the packing, Daughter ensures the grand-kids have everything and picks excursions (everybody has a job). Anyway, have your photos on which ever computer you are going to use, head shots and passports for everybody. Once you start it should only take about 10 minutes at the most. Answer all the questions and you can use the little box that says others guess are the same. Then after filling in the info, save it. Now upload your photos and passports. If you get that spinning circle for longer than a minute, close out and open it back up, don't worry, you already saved everything. Once open, most of the time you will see the last photo you were working on. If not just upload it again. Once you are finished, you will see the message "Pending". I think this is where you get your PAT. DCL will wait until about 3 to 5 days before your cruise to clear your photos. If there is a problem, it is usually a blurry of low definition photo. Take a better shot and upload it again. Lastly you can find a form father down that is for special request, fill that out if needed. Print your port arrival form and take it with you. You are done.

I used my laptop since I can work faster on that than on my iphone. I had all the necessary photos already saved on my computer in a special folder for the cruise so they were easy to find. I used my iphone to take all the photos and just transferred them to my laptop. If you're using a driver's license instead of a passport, you will need to have a photo of the front AND the back of it. For the passport, just a photo of the page with your picture and info. If you're attaching a CC to your account for charging, have it handy to enter the info. You will also need to list an emergency contact person if you don't have one listed from a previous cruise.

I got through everything and could see my PAT form on the screen but there was the endlessly spinning circle in front of it. I just refreshed the page and then it loaded fine so I could print it out.

I found it much easier to upload the selfies and the pictures of our passports using my phone. It took less than 5 minutes for me to complete the check-in for the 3 of us. It listed as pending for about 36 hours and then I got an email from DCL saying that our check-in had cleared.

Can I ask a question with regard to the 30-day check-in? Does check-in open up at 12am or is it later in the day?
