Our family has stayed at ASMo twice. The first time, we were in one of the Love Bug buildings. Last year, we were in the Buzz Lightyear building. I would highly recommend trying for a Toy Story or Dalmations building. You are closer to everything. Not that the other was bad, but after a long day in the parks, every step counts! We found it to be pretty quiet. Both times, we were on the "back" side of the building - away from the elevators. I could see it being loud, epecially on the ground floor, where people are walking by your room to get to the elevator.
We've found the bus service to be great. Last fall, we never waited more than 15-20 minutes for a bus. Most of the time, a bus was waiting when we walked outside. That was great! The only problem we had was confusion over a bus for an early character meal PS. I had read on these boards that an early bus was available for those with character meal PS before park opening. The front desk and the lady with the radio, talking to bus drivers, didn't seem to know what I was talking about. We still got to our breakfast, but we were a few minutes after our PS time arriving.
The food court is great! We ate there several times. There is a very good variety. I'd recommend the Mickey waffles for breakfast! One night, my DH even tried grilled salmon from one of the stations. I was very skeptical of trying "cafeteria" fish, but he said it was very good. And he is a salmon expert! We like the pizza, although I've read many posts of people who don't. It's very, very cheesy. Maybe that's why we like it so! We got the refillable mugs. If you drink a lot of soft drinks anyway, it's a good deal. We don't and found ourselves drinking soft drinks just because we had the mugs. Doubt if we'll get them again. Oh, we did breakfast in our rooms some mornings when I had a character brunch scheduled. Instead of buying little cartons of milk at the food court, we found it much cheaper to buy a quart or 1/2 gallon of milk in the gift shop. We would stick the leftover in a bucket of ice and it would still be cold that evening for the kids.
We've never had a problem with any CMs there, either. They've always been very friendly and offered top notch service. Mousekeeping was efficient. I found it strange, tho, that for the first couple of days, mousekeeping would leave 3 towels, washclothes, etc.. in a room with 4 guests. After calling two nights in a row for extras, mousekeeping just brought me a stash of extras. She said to keep them in a drawer, because it the housekeeper saw clean ones there, she wouldn't leave more. I thought that was funny. We didn't get any of the towel animals I've read about, but they did do funny things with my kids toys. The kids looked forward to seeing what they'd done each day.
The pool is ok, but it's just a big pool. Other than the Sorcerer Mickey statue, there's nothing fancy about it. No slide or anything. But you have to go to the moderates or deluxes to get that. We spent more time at Blizzard Beach and the parks than we did at the pool anyway.
We really enjoyed staying at the ASMo, and will probably stay there again sometime. However, I must say that, for a family of four, the rooms do tend to get smaller as the week goes on. Our kids were just 3 and 6 for our trip last fall. Our next trip won't be until next year, but we're hoping to upgrade to AKL or WL where they have bunk beds.
Enjoy your trip! Hope this answered some of your questions!
