The cast:

Paul, 37 years young - a fully paid-up Disneyaholic
Helen, younger in years and looks - the most organised member of the family
Ryan, 5 months old - a Disney fan in the making

Get up and finish packing. Somehow Helen manages to make it all fit into the three suitcases we brought, although I’m sure that at least one of them makes use of similar technology to Dr Who’s Tardis. We always bring too much and probably always will, but perhaps we are getting a little better with each trip.

One last sweep of the room to make sure nothing is left behind and we call Bell Services to take the bags down to the car. Next we’re off to Downtown Disney to try out Virgin’s new check-in next to Cirque de Soleil. It is a bit of shame that this now cost $5 per head but equally it’s good to have our seat allocations and be free of the luggage so early. It’s only 11am and we don’t need to be at the airport until 6pm. We drive round to the Marketplace and into Once Upon a Toy. A selection of Disney plush characters are paraded in front of Ryan and his favourite seems to be Timon, so he’s the one coming home with us.

Shopping over we whiz back to the BW and head for Big River Grille for the meal we really wanted last night. Pork chops for Helen and a rack of ribs for me with a couple of beers for good measure. We choose to sit outside in the sunshine and can hear a band start playing over by the Yacht Club. It seems that someone has booked the British Invasion for their corporate function and we get a selection of Beatles’ classics to enjoy during our meal – superb :D

We take a slow walk round to Epcot and decide to head into the Living Seas to visit the dolphins. We did the Dolphins in Depth tour a couple of years ago and always come back to visit each trip since. Our last stop is the Land and we do the Living with the Land boat ride followed by Food Rocks. We’ve always missed this in the past but it was great fun and Ryan loved it, waving his arms and legs to the music. It seems that the show is being discontinued to make way for the new Soarin’ attraction, so I’m glad we got a chance to see it when we did.

We say goodbye to Epcot and head back to the BW for a final dip in the pool. We have a couple of hours still, but time moves quickly at times like these and we’re soon drying ourselves off and shedding all non-essential hand luggage.

The drive back to the airport takes no time at all and after dropping the car off with Dollar we go into the terminal building and head for departures and the gate. It’s at this moment I realise Dollar have charged me for two extra hours, even though we have an extended return period thanks to Virgin. No problem though, a quick email to the company on our return produces a refund, plus a free upgrade on our next trip. Luxury-model here we come!

A quick bite to eat at Burger King and we head for the gate. Unlike at Gatwick boarding has actually started early; we end up being amongst the last onto the plane and in no time at all we are up, up and away.

Day 16 – … it is now
