RV storage while on DCL?

Anyone have suggestions of "what to do" with our 5th wheel while on a cruise? We are booked on DCL in June 2012, so plenty of time to "fret" about it. Plan to stay at the Fort after (maybe before) we cruise. Any long term parking available? maybe a short term storage?

We had a 1 day stay at FW then went on a Wonder 4 day cruise keeping MH in the Big Lot while on the cruise and then back to FW for another stay.

How long is your cruise ? Just wondering if storage or parking fees would be a better deal for you ?

You can call the Fort front desk 407.842.2900 to confirm this. If you are going on a Disney cruise and are staying at the Fort before or after the cruise. All you have to do is go to the front desk and show them you are cruising and camping and they will give you a special RV parking pass for the over flow parking lot. You then drive or take the cruise bus to the port. There is no extra charge for this.

Coming in a day to two early, then coming back after the cruise is what I'm hoping for.

7 night cruise. Now I have to decide if we drive and pay the parking fees or if we take the very cool DCL buses. Kids would vote for the buses, but Mom's checkbook will have to rule.

This is what I was hoping for! I will certainly confirm this when we visit the Fort this July (otherwise known as Hot Fun in the Summertime)

Thanks to everyone for helping out- Luv the DISboards and Fort Friends

I know I have seen RVs in the overflow lot parked in the same space all week, so I would guess that people do it (hopefully) while on a Disney Cruise.

When we did our FW stay/cruise/stay, I drove from FW since I prefer to be in the driver's seat and not wanting to wait for the other bus passengers.

We also did something different because we had our 6yo and 4yo DGSs with us and they had no clue about the cruise.

We drove to the port, checked into a beach front hotel and then watched the Magic pull out on Saturday. Sunday morning we drove back to the port and while DW checked in for the cruise I kept the 2 boys busy. When we could board we walked around the ship, ate some lunch, then went to our cabin and checked it out. When the older GS heard about casting off he commented that we should get off the boat or we would get in trouble. This is when I got the video out and DW says, "How would you boys feel if we stay on the ship and go for a cruise?" The responses were priceless.

Enjoy your FW stay and the cruise.

Priceless - I'm sure you and the DGSs will always treasure those memories. Thanks for the help.

OH! Love this!

FYI when deciding to take Disney busses or drive, the Disney busses do not arrive at the port until after 1pm. Have a great trip:thumbsup2

Yeah! This thread is making me revisit my Sept plans. Planning to be at WDW Fri through Thurs then cruise Thurs through Sun. Have reservations at the POP because we were wondering what to do with the 5th wheel. Having this as an option is FANTASTIC...now I'm just wondering how badly the drive would stink all the way from WDW to north GA in one day. We've never done that towing the 5'er.
