I figure many that have gone to FW have passed through Lake City, Fl (I-10 and I-75 intersection) I have been searching for a good RV park to stop at in this area on our way to FW. So I thought I would ask. Id like something on the south side of 10.

does anyone have any recomendations?:confused3

Don't know of anything south of 10 but just a few miles north on 75 is the Eagles Roost. We stay there every trip great place and very nice people.

I would concur with Eagles Roost if you are traveling down I-75.

If you are coming over I-10 to Lake City, I haven't stayed at any of the Lake City area parks. But there are several, some of which have pretty bad reviews and a few seem ok per: RV Park Reviews.

If you want to search the region, I like this map for finding parks: http://www.epgsoft.com/CampgroundMap/

We always stop at the In & Out RV Campground which is just east of the I-75/US 90 intersection (maybe 1/2 mile). It's not fancy, but for an overnighter, it has always served us well. Several places to eat, a WalMart nearby, Home Depot, etc. All sites are pull-thrus. Disney about 150 miles south.:banana:

Try the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park and Campground. It is in Live Oak and you can get there off I-75 and I-10.

We have stayed at In & Out RV park there at I-75 & Hwy90. There used to be a Waynes RV resort (formerly a Jellystone) there also, but I think it is closed now. No great amenities, sites are grass, but mostly pull-throughs, so it is easy for a quick overnight stay.

It is a good exit with shopping, gas stations & restaurants. There is a Bob Evans restaurant at the exit & we would usually eat breakfast there.

A few miles further South at the exit where Hwy 47 crosses is Casey Jones campground. It is a nicer facility, but not much there at the exit.

A lot depends upon how you time your departure and arrival, but we've napped at several Rest Areas during the day as well as the far back of Walmart lots and never had a problem.

I've seen overnighters do it, but I don't feel comfortable after 8pm in public areas.

We've parked at economy motels and rented a room for $60 or so and enjoyed the showers and restaurants. If I had to stop at Lake City, I'd get a motel and really relax and then tackle the short trip to WDW and be ready to hit the ground running.

Personally, I'm a Road Warrior and if I made it to Lake City, I'd continue onto Paradise. (WDW) We alternate drivers and naps, and often go straight through. (20 hrs) We've stopped a lot at Valdosta, GA and the rates and taxes or lower.

You of course must know your limitations and rest accordingly.

I sleep very little all the time(4 hours per night), but at the first sign of drowsiness or sleepy eyes, I stop driving. As a former cop, I've seen the result of driving while sleepy (DWS).
