RV Parking at Resorts?

We are going to be driving an RV to Disney in March. Since this will be our first time doing this, we were wondering about parking at the resorts. Is this allowed? How about at the parks? If anyone has any info on this that they can share, that would be great! Thanks!

I'm assuming you are parking at a resort to visit that resort or to stay there, not to camp overnight in the parking lot.

There is RV parking at all WDW resors and theme parks. You may not "camp" overnight in your RV anywhere but Fort Wilderness in a campsite.

I am familiar with that, but we are not looking to stay at the campground. I was wondering if resorts allowed RV parking. We are goign to be travelling in it, but are not looking to stay in it for the whole trip.

But the campground is just so cool! I'm dying to bring my camper down there! You should give it a try. You might really love it.

Thanks Ducklite! That's what I needed to know. We are definitely not planning on camping out in the parking lot.

But why would you come down in an RV and not stay at the campground?

I would love to try it someday too, jehma. We visit Fort Wilderness often when we are at Disney, but we have never stayed there. We are traveling down with my sister in law and her 4 crazy kids, so we will definitely be needing some space to ourselves. LOL

We decided to take the RV down since we have a large group traveling down together and will sleep in it overnight on the way to Disney and on the trip back.

Just FYI some resorts do not allow you to park an RV that is larger than a regular parking space AT them. They will ask you to park them at Port Orleans Riverside (as they have ample parking there). Not sure which ones will allow you to park at the resort itself but I know Old Key West for example will have you park at POR. Your best bet is to call the resort and ask them directly.

LOL! I bet that's how my BIL describes us (minus 1 kid - we only have 3, but they're pretty crazy) :teeth:

OK, makes sense. We never do it because we drive down in the big SUV to my parents' house (no RV parking) for part of the week, then up to Disney for the rest of the week, then the rest of the way home. It's too hard to dewinterize/winterize (and deal with having it up here with water in the cold weather) just for the Feb. trip. Staying at the campground and taking one of the behind the scenes tours are Disney dreams of mine.

My sister and BIL own a HUGE RV, McMansion on Wheels, it's 40-some feet long with two popouts, an onboard washer and dryer, you name it.

They drove down in it, and stayed with us at the BWV.

I'm sure others do the same type of things.
