We brought home our TT today. We are fortunate to live less than 3 hours from Disney. How often are there weekend cancellations and what is the best way to book them? Phone, internet, both? We'd like to try the new TT at the Fort before the kids get out of school and the parks get crowded.

How far out do you usually book for sites at the Fort?

Congrats on the new TT! Unfortunately I live too far away from the Fort to be able to do weekend trips so my booking involves more long term planning. For certain times of the year 365 days out is cutting it close, ex Halloween weekend, Christmas/NYE. Keep trying as someone is bound to cancel...good luck and welcome!

1) Phone is usually the best method.
2) You can make ressies 499 night ahead of your date.
. . . the price will not be guaranteed at booking that far in advance
. . . you get the price that is in effect at the time of your stay

ChristineNic,

All we can say is keep trying (any method - phone, online). During the nice camping weather times like spring and fall the weekends fill up with "locals" like yourselves who come in for the weekend. Those reservations are made well in advance and makes us out-of-towners scramble if we are coming in for 5-6 days because we can usually get weekday nights, but it's the weekend nights that are tight.

Nevertheless if I was a local I would do the same thing. But plans do change for folks.

Congrats on your new trailer.

Congratulations with your new home purchase!!! We two are 2.5 hours from driveway to Outpost and recently began doing the weekday cheaper rate bookings now that we two are retired. Calling and trying for approaching weekend stays can be very disappointing now that FW is very popular compared to years ago. If you like last minute vacations, the best time to call is 7AM since the cancellations from the previous day will be fresh in the computer system. We have certain times for required stays at FW and for those dates I book a year to the 499 days out as RS posted.

ENJOY your many upcoming visits to FW.

Of course another though could be to try and do a Week DAY trip where you go in the middle of the week for a couple of days. Probably be easier to get then the weekend.

Either way, congrats on the new TT. Hope you get many years of awesome use out of it.
