So 2 times now I have witnessed someone go thru a red light at the exact same spot.
they aren't speeding, just going thru it like it doesn't exist.

its at an intersection where I turn left, so when the green left turn arrow is on the other lights are red.
but now I have seen someone coming from the opposite direction from me,,go straight thru the light.

I kind of wonder if there is something wrong with the light? there have been no other cars coming from the same direction, just one car, and they just go thru.
I always hesitate for a second before I make turns like that to be sure.

I wonder who to call to check something like that? probably the towns highway department?

I know people run red lights, and maybe thats what these 2 were just doing, but it just strikes me odd thats it the same light same spot 2 times in a row.
there are cameras at that intersection too.

You could try going through the intersection from the other direction to see if the lights seem to be working. But my guess is that they're just clueless people who aren't paying attention. There's an intersection where turn to go to the grocery store. Several times when my left arrow is green, people have come straight at me on a red light. I think they get confused because the people next to them have a green arrow to turn and they just start moving when they do. I've seen it happen at least 3 times. Now I always watch before I turn to make sure those people are staying put!

If the intersection has red light cameras, those people should be getting their tickets soon enough.

maybe it is a faulty light but

i sometimes wonder if this is a sign of the times and things to come. In gereral folks seem to have less and less manners, be more socially inappropriate, be less civil, and to feel that it's easier to follow along with this trend than not to.

when you think about it, its pretty interesting/surprising that folks follow along with the rules of society at all. it takes respect to do that and unfortunately it seems that folks would rather be admired for other qualities and not something as simple and lame as being respectful.

who would you (not op, just anyone) consider more odd? a stranger who flips you off or a stranger who sings you a simple song or hands you a flower because they are happy and feel like it? yea, exactly.

Well, it could be a burned out red light however a driver who has any sense and ability to reason would see that none of the lights are lit and at least treat it as a stop sigh. Unless it is a light like a turn arrow that is lit in conjunction with another light a burned out light means none are lit.

As for red light cameras here in Ohio any traffic camera able to give tickets (red light or speeding) must have a sign at least 500 feet down the road indicating that the upcoming intersection has an enforcement camera. For years they were outlawed here and that is the concession it took for our supreme court to decide they didn't violate our state's constitutional due process. This is what a police officer I work out with told me so I didn't research this myself but they are all very signed so I think there is some truth to it.

I would call the police department's non-emergency number, ask to speak with someone in the traffic division and express your concern.

My son tells me that their traffic squad takes these calls very seriously and would rather monitor the intersection than work a fatality.

I saw a horse truck and trailer go through a red light like it didn't exist. Seriously--a split second earlier and he would have t-boned the car that was turning that had right of way and my SIL would have rearended him (she was following too closely so couldn't see the light--totally her fault to do that, but scary none the less. I was in a car behind that and had plenty of room to know that the light was turning red and to slow down. When they kept on flying--it was very scary!)

I kind of doubt it is a faulty light. There are just people who literally do not pay attention to something silly like a traffic light.

I have seen plenty of times were the green arrow comes on and the person in front of me goes straight through the red. I think it is people that are not paying attention. They see a green light and assume it is for them.
