Just catching up on your blog as well. The update on the 23rd.......did the nurse and/or doctor say anything about it? Is it just part of the healing process?

You mean the pins and needles? I actually forgot to ask because it's so mild and I don't get it all the time. I'm pretty sure it's just the nerves healing though which is a good thing![]()
I think it was your weeping wound and having to change the bandage.
No more trip updates yet, just another leg one. It's been nearly 2 weeks since the surgery now, and I had a check-up with the nurse this morning. She was very pleased with how my legs are healing, I could even see the skin starting to mend together when she was changing my dressings. The dressings are gradually getting simpler and smaller, but for now I still have to make sure it doesn't get wet. I'll have to start putting plastic bags over my legs for showers, because they keep getting wet even though the dressings are supposed to be waterproof. I've got another appointment with the nurse in a week's time. She's planning to remove the dressings then and she says I'll have tape after that.

Great news Zanzibar, good to see your recovery is progressing, won't be long and you'll be back running![]()
Apparently it will be about another 6 weeks until I can start actually running again. But I'm hoping on Thursday the physio will give me the go ahead to start doing some sort of exercise so I can at least start working on my fitness again.I haven't had time to catch up on your blog so thanks for the updates - good to hear you are progressing so well with post op recovery. Haven't been on FF recently either but no doubt will see the uproar next time I do. It sounds like it will all work out for the best even if it has messed up your fantastic indulgent trip - no fun if DH would have been stressing-and don't discount other deals - we got a great price last year for DD to join us in Europe and she booked months after us in a little window when they released a short-term price deal - no doubt it happens going stateside as well-keep watching.

Those water-proof dressings are useless aren't they. DH had a large piece of steel cut open his leg a few months back and he needed stitches. The so called waterproof dressing not only got wet in the shower but it would fall off instantly.
I'm so pleased to hear that you are on the mend. You'll be running in no time![]()
In an effort to save money, I've gone with a camping cabin at the KOA. The camping cabin doesn't have its own bathroom, so I'll have to traipse off to the amenities block. It does get great reviews on TripAdvisor and apparently the bathrooms are very nice.

If KOA has kept their standard up, then you'll be fine. KOA was widely regarded as the 5-star quality of campsites. But remember - it will be campground facilities.
Those cabins look cute.![]()

Had the waterproof dressings removed this morning, and now have a bit of tape just to help minimise scarring apparently. Looking forward to having proper showers again without being terrified of leaky dressings!

YAY! That's great news.
It's great to hear things are progressing well.![]()
