Running Down a Dream 2: It's All About the Swag

Hey Scott (or Mr. I. as I like to refer to you superhero-types),

Just wanted to wish you a happy holiday weekend (yes, I realize not a MAJOR holiday, but I get excited anytime a 3-day weekend is thrown at me). Enjoy the miles! I hope to be out there again very soon.

Take care and enjoy the game tonight!

Hi scott,

There is no" just "in your normal week. You put in enormous effort every week.

I hope you are enjoying your game tonight. Have a great weekend and a fantastic run.

Take care,
Beth

Thanks everyone :)

Thrashers are getting their butts kicked again tonight, so thought I'd just come here instead! (at least Ohio State is winning! Go Bucks!)

Stacie, the WDW courses are the same each year...I know a couple years back they modified the start into two separate courses for the first mile or so thru Epcot (the red and blue courses) but then the rest is the same each year.....and the half follows the same first 9 miles as the full so there will be lots of repeat scenery for us unfortunately...but at least it'll be Disney scenery!!

I'll report that I did not do my 5 mile walk today, opting for a near 17 mile bike ride instead :goodvibes: I'm trying to get as many rides in as I can before cold weather sets in a couple months from now. I actually got the thing up to over 26mph today on a flat stretch...so fun to go that fast!! (not that I'm a thrill seeker or anything...)

Just chilling out now, resting up for the 10 miler tomorrow....I'll be out there bright and early and will check back in tomorrow afternoon sometime.

Hope everyones weekend is going along good! Kim...unfortunately the kids have school and the office is open on Monday so I don't get to celebrate this as a holiday weekend :( (time to move to Jersey!! ;) )

Scott, good luck on your run today! And awesome job with the 17 mile ride!Wow!!

Too bad about not having a holiday weekend.. i thought it was a national holiday? Guess not!

Have a good day!

Hey Scott--Great job last week on your training! You always inspire me with your training!! I hope your LR went well today as well.

Sorry about your Thrashers...my devils are not much better. Oh well. THis hasn't been a good sports week here for me...lol...Yankees lost first two, Rutgers lost yet AGAIN, and the devils haven't looked good. YIKES! Hopefully, today will be better!

Can't wait to hear how your 10 miler went today...you are going to do so awesome in your half coming up!!

Hi Scott

How did that 10 Miler go for you today?

Did you have a good weekend :)?

Check in when you get a chance!!!!

Thank you :)

Well, the 10 miler is officially in the books. Everything went fine, but my legs felt a little heavy (ok...real heavy) around mile 8 and I think I've learned my lesson on "long riding" before long running...can't do it if my run is going to be greater than 8 miles...especially during marathon training.

I've recouped well though with lots of stretches and good hydration.

So overall, the day was a successful one.

Thanks for checking in!

Hi scott,
I took your advice and I am not going to increase my milage just yet,I want to get this down first.Hope you had a good weekend.
Linda

Hey there Scott! I'm a HURRICANES fan myself! GOOOO CANES! Home team, what can I say...

17 miles on the bike! Good Lord! You people amaze me. I feel so lazy! :goodvibes Good job on the 10 miler!!! :thumbsup2

Yeah... No holiday weekend for me either. Full work week!!! That's no fun!

Hope you have a good one!
Stacie

Hi, Scott. Congratulations on a successful long run AND a LOOOONG bike ride the day before. I am so in awe of you folks that can do all that activity in one weekend.:worship: Anyway, glad you learned that it's best not to do them back to back without any serious injury and you can move forward with your training on schedule.

Hope you have a great day!

Susan

Great job on the 10 miler, Scott! Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

Did you see my Indians beat the Yankees last night? :woohoo: First the Cavs and now the Indians....Now if the Browns would get the winning season/playoff memo, we'd be all set!:lmao:

Have a great Tuesday!

Hey Scott--WTG for getting the 10 miler in!!! My legs would be heavy too if I rode 17 miles the day before. That is one of the best things about going through all of this, we are learning what works and what doesn't work! It had been quite a learning experience!!!

Sorry about no holiday weekend for you...for me that is one of the perks of being a teacher..although, there were a few school districts around here that had school yesterday!!

You are doing awesome!! Keep up the great work!

Hi Scott,

Congrats on putting the 10 miler behind you. I'm glad you figured out that a long ride combined with a long run doesn't workfor you. No wonder your legs were heavy.

Still an inspiration.

Have a good week.
Beth

Hey Scott! Just checking in to see how the week was going and what's going on for the weekend.

Hope you're having a good week!

Thanks for continuing to check in on me and post in my journal. You always have something encouraging or inspiring to say. I really appreciate it!

Stacie

Hi Scott,
I read your blog "Why I run." That was great. I actually did not feel like getting out there this morning but after reading that I now have motivation.Within the next hr.I will be out there.

I also read on someone elses journal about how you were on several plateaus while losing weight.I am wicked frustrated about this plateau again. It has become about the exercise and the running more now and how I feel but I would think that after switching gears like I did(off the couch and out of the fridge)I would see a bigger number difference.

Clothes do fit much better but we know the motivation is seeing the numbers go down.

Continuing to journal and read everyone else's,plus the support here, really helps to keep me focused.

Any other suggestions?
TIA,Linda

Hi Scott,

I just wanted to wish you luck. Remember you have an entire cheering section here.

We'll want details when it is over.

Good Luck,
Beth
