Has anyone found any decent priced clothing to wear while working out/running? I love the Adidas stuff, but it gets pricey. Any comparable brands for less money?

Also, for the female athletes -- I'm looking for some good sports bras. I like the cool/dry fit ones, but again, cheaper ones that do the same job would be great! :) I also need to make sure they keep things... secure lol.

I second the Target recommendation. They carry Champion wicking shirts that I really like for about $10 - $15. I'm less impressed with the bras they had at Target (not very supportive), but I do tend to like Champion bras I've bought elsewhere (~$20-$25).

In Maine, we are fortunate to have New Balance factory outlet stores and they have a blowout sale every year :yay: that I get most of my clothes from. I buy my bras from Dick's Sporting Goods as they carry a different variety (which includes Champion). For really good bras that will last forever and can wear to work....Title 9 sports.

Check out the Clearance sections at the Sports Authority. They have good sales if you happen to be there at the right time.

I agree about the running apparels at Target. It cost less and it works fine.:thumbsup2

I found a bra style I liked, and checked on Ebay. It was a great price. I also look for certain types of running clothes on there. Like the Sugoi tights that Leana recommended. :) They're still pricey on Ebay, but I'm watching.

I'm also a Target gal for shorts/shirts/etc. I really like the Moving Comfort sports bras--they are a little $$$ but well worth the money and last a long time. I would say definitely spend the money on the shoes, socks and bras--but then you can find less expensive shirts/shorts. Tights also can get pricey--but thank goodness that I live in the south, not much need here!

I'm all about Target's shirts. I have some shirts from skirtsports.com but they are kind of hot- I really prefer the plain white C9 shirts at Target. TJ Maxx sometimes has good deals. Lately I've been wearing shorts from Road Runner Sports and skirts from Skirtsports.com. (I've never paid full price for one of the skirts- they run a lot of specials). Oh, and I bought a pair of tights at Target that are C9 and seem fine. It's still really hot here, so all I've done is try them on.

As far as bras go, I buy Enells on-line. They're expensive ($55 or $60?) but you'll be secure! I actually haven't had a chance to try anything else, so there may be other great ones out there for less money.

Socks I've bought on-line. I hadn't bought any in awhile, and then got a raging blister from an old pair... :rolleyes1 Good luck!

I've gotten nearly all my running clothes at TJ Maxx or Marshalls. It's totally hit or miss, but I've gotten some good things, like a longsleeve wicking shirts for $12 and a pair of Nike tights for $20.

I too get my shorts and shirts at Target - here in south Florida I prefer the Champian tank shirts and bike type shorts. I went to my Target and they didn't seem to have that great of selection but I think that is because they are closing out one season and getting into another. Some of the stuff was on clearance. I guess its a hit or miss type thing. As far as bras I found a sports bra at Victoria's Secret (but its not a VS bra) I found that the sports type bras at Target and other places don't have enough support for me. The one I got at VS has removable pads and has the best support. I need to find another one. I will look at the brand name when I get home. The socks I use come from the running store and are very comfortable - the brand is Feetures - and they are real thin and have Coolmax to allow your feet to breathe. Definately don't want to wear cotton socks or they will make your feet hot and cause blisters. I would suggest looking at VS for a good supportive bra since like others have said you want the most comfort on your feet and your (well you know!! LOL)

Hey, A fellow Mainer! :woohoo:

Oh, and I'm also a fan of the Champion C9 running shirts from Target.

I am in Central Maine up near the NB outlet. ;) Are you going to be at ToT? We fly out of Portland 10/25.:yay:

I'm in southern Maine, near Portland. (I always miss out on the NB outlet sales :headache:)

No ToT for me this year; I'll be heading to WDW Marathon weekend Jan. 10th.

Happy Training!

Best of luck in the marathon. I HAVE to do ToT because it is on my birthday! :thumbsup2 And just a FYI, the NB sale is always around the 7th of August (Skowhegan State Fair week). Zip me a message next summer and I will let you know when it is. It is well worth the trip. ;)

I'll chime in with Target - only due to my current size, and the current way running shirts for women are made - I find the men's shirts more comfy - and the men's shorts are longer than the womens...

and believe it or not, I found a great running bra at Target - just one brand, and it does have hooks in the back - but it was so much more supportive than the other 2 bras I had been trying (I was very close to giving up and just wearing my regular bra!) I believe the price was around $20 - I tried them on in the dressing room and did run in place!!

What town/city in Maine is the NB outlet in?

It is in Skowhegan, about 20 minutes north of Waterville. If you need directions, let me know. I live about 10 minutes away...lucky me. I will try to remember to post next summer when I find out when the sale is.

Thanks everyone! I went to Target and got one of the shirts, 2 sports bras, 3 pairs of the socks with wicking and a pair of capris. I'm going to try them out before I buy more though. :)

I was at target looking for the "under" armour type wear - and I did notice there was quite a bit of different styles of running bras - some had more support than others, but you definately had to search to find the ones with the good support!!
