RunDisney Mom's Panel

Who here signed up to be part of the new RunDisney Mom's panel rep? Did anyone make it to the second stage?

I did. I also got a very polite try again next year letter.

I applied (as I have every year since the programs inception), and got my usual "don't call us, we'll call you" letter.

But, as I said in another thread - I probably should not have tried for runDisney. The odds that the runDisney person will be a man are somewhat less than slim - it's the Moms Panel, and runDisney has shown that they are more concerned with female runners than male ones. That was two strikes against me from the get go.

On a positive note, I haven't yet received a rejection letter for my 2012, 2013 or 2014 applications yet. . . .

I also received the polite email. Oh well, we're actually going to be in DL for the weekend of the "training" so it's for the best - I would have been scrambling to rebook our trip if I'd gotten a Round 2 email.

Sending lots of luck to those who made it to round 2. Just a question...there was confusion as to whether or not you had to have kids and be a Mom or Dad in order to be on the runDisney panel. So, for those of you that did make it to round 2...Do you have kids?

I applied and got the "thanks, but no thanks" response.

I wonder if they keep track of whether you ever send them feedback/correspondence (read:complaints/compliments). If so, I'll never make it!

What is the runDisney Mom's panel?

Disney has a Moms Panel to help people plan their trips and answer questions about the parks, cruises, rides, and so forth. This year, they are adding panelists who will specialize in certain areas, among them, runDisney.

Thanks for the good wishes everyone. I'm really not sure what was different in my application this year that got me to round 2 when I haven't gotten in so many times in the past. Perhaps the fact that I love doing Disney races and meeting all of you awesome people managed to come through on my application.

Going to try to make some kid of video tonight, this should be interesting

Hello All! I am super excited to share that I have made it to the second round I was having a lovely evening at a Boston Bruins game with famliy and friends when I opened the congratulations email from Disney! I am Canadian and it is our Thanksgiving today, I certainly feel that I have a great deal to be thankful for. A little about myself, I love Disney and I love to run. I got my coast to coast last year for doing the Goofy and the Disneyland Half. I have a four-year-old daughter who ran her first 100M at Disneyland, it was one of the greatest moments of my life running behind her and seeing her get that medal. I cannot wait for my next Disney run the Tinker Bell half, it is my 10 year Dental Hygiene reunion and I am going to run with some of my classmates! Excited to share this magical adventure with you all!

No, you don't have to have had or claim that you have to be a Disney Mom(or Dad)!

There will probably only be one panelist of the lot who does not have kids. And probably only one man. Historically, despite the "anyone can apply," the moms panel is just that - moms.

I saw that there were 6-8 men on the last panel!
