run to Pirates or the Mtns? has that mad dash changed?

Has that mad dash at rope dropped changed now that Pirates had been refurbished? Wondering if its better to go to Space at opening or Pirates? Pirates doesnt have fastpass.

I think people still tend to go to Tomorrowland first because it's more visible. Also, they want to go and get the fastpasses for Space/Buzz. I have been on Pirates a few times, and every time the wait time sign has said 40 minutes and we have only waited 20. I think the line moves much faster at Pirate than at the other rides. I would go to the mountains first, to atleast get a fastpass.

I agree, we just got back and Pirates often had a line, but you move pretty fast. We usually get a FP for Splash, ride Big Thunder, then use our FP, then head to Pirates - it is usually still early enough that the line is not bad. You just don't want to get there right after they do the pirate show, because that brings a big bunch of people in all at once.

It's right outside POTC, a Jack Sparrow and mate perform a short show about 10-15 min. Its really cute and funny, they pick a few kids from the crowd and teach them how to 'sword' fight. We caught it twice when we were there, but it draws big crowds and then when its over everyone head right for POTC. But the line still moves really fast, and the cue is nice and cool, a great break on a hot summer day.
