Rumours about delays for Rip Ride Rockit

Think it'll be open by the last week of July?

I have no clue but it certainly doesn't look impossible. They have to finish up the track, install the electronics, do a few weeks of testing, finish landscaping. That sounds like a few months of work unless they have more delays. It is pure speculation at this point.

I hope its open durring my stay in July, 3-10. You would thimk they would like to atleast make it for then since thats the busiest time of the summer. RRR is one other the main rides trying to bring in buisness this summer and hope it will be done.:thumbsup2 The website still says openning spring of 2009.:confused3

Off topic : Manta looks a lot like Montu from Busch Gardens Tampa.

It may resemble it but its nothing like montu. Montu is a inverted coaster and manta is a flying coaster. two completly different rides.

The rumour I heard yesterday was that the rest of the lift won't be constructed until the station is completed due to space constraints. This person said that the area around the lift has been used for storing materials for the station and the lift can't be accessed properly for completion until those materials are removed.

While I’m hesitant to even speculate very much about just what may have caused the delay with the Hollywood Rockit at Universal, some have pointed out that the very fact that they have yet to install any of the coaster’s lift hill may be a good indication that this may be part of the problem. The actual problem is bound to be far more that this however, as it is more likely a mix of issues that have created this troublespot. Many have pointed the finger towards an issue of some kind that may involve the lift system, the trains and how they interact with the new evacuation system that was designed for the ride. True or not, everyone agrees that we wont see this ride open anytime this Spring, with a late June opening seeming to be the earliest estimate right now.

it would be a real downer if the ride didn't open in June. But I'd rather them take their time and do it right then have a faulty ride.

Yeah...I'm sure Universal will be very disappointed if HR3 can't open on time to take advantage of the full summer season. But...much better safe than sorry.

If its the last thing they plan on completing then it only LOOKS like they are behind adn they are really not. Of course in reality they probably are. :sad1:
